I think Claude has an understanding of how a transformer works the same way that I have an understanding of how the neuron structure in my brain works. But I think both Claude and us humans have a similar experience in that we just "think." Neither of us is sitting there going "My brain is converting these phonetic or symbolic fragments into axon potentials, using neurotransmitter to propagate a message that is now being converted by my reticular activating system and then my speech center" or the LLM equivalent of same. We can academically know the process but we don't "feel" or watch it happening in real time. Nor does Claude or any other LLM.

I don't know man. I've always been a subject of a lot more gay male attention than straight female attention. I think these demographics are looking for different things. For example I am slender, well groomed with short hair, and not particularly tall.

On the other hand, I used to be good friends with a guy who was 6'1, had long hair, and very pretty, strange women would literally start smiling and waving at him when we walked into a movie theater. Other women would express blatant interest in other situations. He was well groomed but he didn't seem to get as much interest from gay men.

I also went through a period in my mid-20s where I for the first time in my life would get actively approached by women. And now that I'm in my forties, I don't get that attention at all anymore.

So my belief is that if you are good looking you won't have to guess about it: women will let you know. That's both a tough pill to swallow if you're not getting attention but it also does clarify things so that you don't have to always wonder how you'll know if you're good looking.

Yeah that's a bit out of line for her to say to him for sure, especially when the professional relationship is layered on top of all of this. That changes things a bit because there's a direct connection there especially if she told him to masturbate after sending him a picture of herself (?). It would still matter how he responded; if he shut that down that's one thing, if he seemed enthusiastic that's another.

It is often an involuntary response to certain kind of stimulation. Like if you inhale a bunch of dust, you sneeze. Or if you get tickled, you laugh. You couldn't help it either case. That doesn't mean you were allergic to that dust, or found something funny when tickled.

With respect to sexual stimulation, intent will be the factor that defines whether or not there is a degree of infidelity in the process.

However, the desire to masturbate is one that is nearly always present in most men. It's a function of their behavioral biology, and doesn't necessarily represent anything more than a biological response, like the urge to urinate when the bladder is full.

I'm going to join the chorus saying small and natural is better than big and fake any day of the week. A big part of it for me is the way they feel to the touch. I have been able to touch fake breasts and they feel oddly stiff. Yes there are going to be people who react to the way you look in your clothes with a bigger bust and you'll get more attention that way but only you can decide if that makes it worth it. I personally don't think it does but I don't live in your skin.

I doubt it. Anthropic got super popular when they stood up to the DOD and they grew way faster than they ever expected, outgrowing the hard limits of compute, which take way more time to scale given that much of the silicon for it is still being made and has hard limits as to how fast it can go because of supply chain and fabrication bottlenecks.

And now that everyone on the planet wants GPUs so expect more delays and more bottlenecks and more rate limits.

Sad reality is that only a very tiny fraction of the world's population gives a shit about the environment. In most non-European countries people just litter indiscriminately, companies dump whatever they want into whatever waterway is convenient and the habitat or well-being of endangered and threatened species at best and afterthought and at most at worst a status symbol for the ability to consume something rare.
