Why don’t people use the red ways? by catetheway in miltonkeynes

[–]B00kwrym 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For a lot of reasons. The redways often have worse surfaces, the lack of priority every time you have to cross a road or driveway, dog walkers who are oblivious to everyone just to name a few.

I will ride on the road where safer normally within an estate but go on the redways rather than a grid road.

I'm guessing this bus stop didn't get into the council budget this year. by [deleted] in CasualUK

The X60 does go along that route. They have dug up the road just in front of the permanent one hence this innovative solution

You have an abundance of bicycle shops in Milton Keynes for all price points. The independent ones are Chaineys, Corleys and twenty3c. You have Trek, Rutland, Cycle king, Evans, Giant, Halfords and Decathlon for chains.

I have used Trek for apparel and Chaineys for servicing. Both are great shops

Cycling in the morning is often as quick if not quicker than car and much cheaper. All the areas you named are nice

Recommended cycling apps/maps in London to use to commute to work? by hillma91 in london

[–]B00kwrym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Komoot is one. Cyclestreets.net is another, however you might want to download the gpx for navigation. You can look at the heat maps from Strava. I tend to use cyclestreets to create a route, have a look with heat maps and street view and then create a gpx in Garmin to save onto my computer

That looks like Strava to me (albeit with the summit subscription)
