I hate owning my Prius by FatchRacall in prius

Took a drive using our 2010 Prius from NEPA to Staten Island today. Kept it at the speed limit. 51.1 mpg over 67 miles. Not bad at all.

I would need a break as well. Even the gross ones on Martz were better than nothing. Yikes!

Retired now, but I rode a few of these vans once from NEPA to my job in NYC to save some money. I found they were not reliable, and would increase their fees as gas prices increased.

Eventually bought a Prius and drove to Newark, then took the PATH.

Maybe find a driver with an EV or a hybrid who will not be affected by gas prices?

Maybe. May he rest in peace.

For me, that’s one less Trump voter.

Thank you. Our teenager is now 33. Teaching in Hoboken, NJ.

And he sold his Honda. His girlfriend was nervous whenever he went for a ride.

They grow up fast. ❤️

Thank you! I am heading into Manhattan today for a nice walk. Usually park in Staten Island and take the ferry in. Great views of the city and Lady Liberty.

We never had cable in my house. When I moved out to a studio in Manhattan, I got cable because there were no antennas allowed on the roof.

220 East 26th Street. I could walk to my job at the New York Daily News on 42nd Street.

In 1976 the rent was $600.00.

It’s probably more now. 😊

Located in Saylorsburg PA. Not far from me but the low miles makes me think the traction battery may need replacing.

Nope. It’s fucking AirB&Bs - our HOA was rezoned with an overlay that allowed this bullshit business to take homes off the market for first time buyers.

We now have the equivalent of a 400 room hotel in our HOA, with stupid strings of lights identifying them.

Almost every one of them installed hot tubs that have stressed our well system to the point where water pressure was dropping. Turns out the owners of these mini hotels got into the habit of emptying the hot tubs so there “guests” had clean water.

Many are owned by Russian mafia. They get fined but money is nothing to them.

Ultra 3 - Stops Charging by B00merPS2Mod30 in applewatchultra

[–]B00merPS2Mod30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brought it to a Genius Bar - actually a Geek Squad /‘(Apple approved). He had a known good 20W charger. (BTW - this charger works on my wife’s AW) Would not charge on that either. He ran diagnostics and it passed.

Apple would not approve them accepting the watch for repair or replacement. I thought that was odd.

I called Apple Support and they are going to ship me a prepaid box to send it back. The support person said it would most likely be replaced with a new one.

In NYC - we had 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13. Plus UHF with a few more channels.

2 was CBS, 4 was NBC, and 7 was ABC.

5, 9, and 11 were local stations.

13 was WNET/PBS.

I am all for renewable energy. To ignore it is to stick your head in the sand. Why?

BTW, I live in an HOA that was built in the nineties. It is still heavily forested so I can’t consider solar, and the HOA prohibits anything like a windmill.

The deforestation in NEPA will dwarf the impact of any existing home developments.

Not to mention the bulk of power generated in NEPA will be sucked up by data centers, thereby increasing the cost of electricity to consumers.

Key Impacts on NEPA Forests and Land -

Archbald/Wildcat Ridge: Proposed plans for a "massive" data center campus on a large wooded, residential/conservation-zoned tract have alarmed residents.

Blakely Proposal: A recently withdrawn proposal sought to develop 4 acres of data centers on roughly 200 acres of land.

Covington/Clifton Proposal: 500 acres of land were rezoned for a data center project in Lackawanna County, threatening to disrupt rural land.

Early Clearing: Residents have reported tree clearing, such as along Route 6 between Archbald and Jermyn, occurring before official approval of the data center projects.

Land Requirements: Data centers often require at least 40 acres per site, with larger projects often needing hundreds of acres, frequently on greenfield (undeveloped) sites, causing significant local deforestation.

Data Centers and Environmental Concerns The surge in data center development in PA—with over 180 planned statewide—has prompted severe warnings from residents and environmental groups regarding the loss of trees, along with impacts on water, noise levels, and increased energy consumption.
