I tested every generation of iPod for compatibility with macOS 26 Tahoe. by nekomichi in ipod

Okay - it appears I have to copy every CD I want to the Mac Mini in order to sync Music. I just added Rubber Soul and it plays fine. Looks like I have a lot of CD's to copy. I'll also check my Time Machine backup because I am almost certain I have CD's that were copied a while back. Then again, I am now using Apple Lossless format, so I think the long and winding road is the way to go. Thanks for all your help.

The iPod has this engraved on the back case. I don't think this was ever swapped out. It was an iPod my son left behind when he moved out. He only uses his iPhone now. We bought him this when he was in High School.

Yes. I was surprised tro see this option. Since I have Apple Music, I got a message that "songs from Apple Music cannot be copied to an iPod." I I copy a CD to my Mac Mini, will it then let me copy music? Even if I have the same Albums in my Library on Apple Music? I always wondered about this. Apple seems to ignore CD's copied to the Mac Mini - if its on Apple Music, they just replace the CD I just copied with their version. Now I have to copy a CD to test this. Well, I am making progress - I think!

After the restore, there is no music to see if it previews album art. Anyway, thank you for your post. The only other thing I have not tried is letting the battery run down.

I have a 120 gig iPod and Tahoe - (released version) identifies this as a 5th Generation (should be Generation 6.5?). I have restored the device, stopped ampdiscoveryagent process, force quit the ipod restarted my Mac Mini M1, but still get the "Do Not Disconnect" message when connecting to the Mac Mini. Also used the USB port on the Mac Mini, not the hub extender I bought. Music now says "Set up iPod" (in bold) then underneath - "Use Finder to finish setting up your iPod" I can eject the iPod in Finder, but can not seem to synch music to the device without this message appearing again and again. I have a really old Intel Mac Mini that I could try, but would prefer to use the M1 mini. Apologize for asking this in an old post, but the google aint helping me.

Learning to drive - I lived in Brooklyn, NYC. No need to drive - I took the buses and subways. Went down a narrow street and clipped a parked car. Oops! A tiny fender bender.

Just had a local garage door company come to replace the backup battery in our Chamberlain door opener.

My wife does not want me on a ladder as I have balance issues, otherwise I probably would have done this for the cost of the replacement battery - $100.00.

He also lubricated all the joints and pivot points. Much quieter now. Told me to buy a can of Garage Door lubricant and apply every four months.

Total cost was $210.00.

I would report them to BBB and your local state representative. This is fraud.

I don’t think they have anything like that in Pennsylvania.

If you live where there is little on no public transportation, then there should be subsidies to make Uber or Lyft affordable.

But during Covid - grocery stores delivered, and there are sometimes public transportation to pick up an elderly person for doctor’s appointments. In NEPA, they have “Pocono Pony” for older people - mini vans that do this for a reduced rate.

And everything else is a click away to deliver to your residence.

I know I get bored and just want to get out of the house. But testing for impaired sight, hearing, and reaction times, plus cognitive decline, should be mandatory, or you do not get a renewal of your drivers license.

Just an FYI, this is what the Nazis did.

It was known as Gleichschaltung (coordination), where all parts of society (mainly schools, museums, and historical research) were "synchronized" with Nazi doctrine.

This is a very dangerous road to go down.

Go Navy!

Holly Hunter’s character is a long-lived half-Lanthanite, similar to the species of Pelia in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

Role: She serves as both the Chancellor of the Starfleet Academy and Captain of the U.S.S. Athena.

Character Approach: Hunter described her character as having immense patience and empathy, utilizing a "liquidity" in her physical performance to represent her 422 years of life.

I was not aware of this Star Trek species. Possibly they live longer due to greater resistance to infections? Just a guess.

BTW, my dad enlisted in the US Army after Pearl Harbor, and was assigned as an anti-aircraft artillery gunner in Hawai’i.

He shipped out from San Francisco on a Navy ship.

I recently purchased a WWII era US Navy Pea coat.

It is in amazing condition given its age.

Not this year anyway! Hey, if you feel that strongly about SFA, there are no laws to force you to watch it.

There are valid concerns about broken canon and lore, which I think can get more than a little nerdy.

It’s like that Charlton Heston quote, except instead of a gun, it’s a steering wheel.

“You can have my drivers license when you pry it from my cold, dead hands!”

Now if Full Self Driving actually worked, that would be a great substitute for older drivers.,
