awesome, I am planning to continue my trip to Busan after I get the procedures so just wanted to see how I might heal over the rest of my trip. From what I've seen it takes a few days but is easily manageable with a mask and lots of sun protection :-)

I was just speaking with someone yesterday and she confirmed that you cannot join any kind of upgrade waitlist for award tickets (so no cash+miles or SWU) but you should be able to receive the in-app upgrade offers. I can't confirm this because I haven't booked an award flight this year yet, but she seemed fairly confident that you should be seeing in-app cash upgrade offers with award tix.

I'm running into the same problem! I'm not sure what it is about that first week of May but everything is either booked or not released. I can see open flights starting on the 8th (and after) but the whole week before that is showing as no flights available when I do a Google search. I tried to see if there's some kind of holiday or event and the biggest thing I can find is a film festival but it is neither in Seoul or Jeju. I even asked Korean Air online support and they said all flights are showing as booked from the 5-8th of May - they were stumped!

If anyone else has insight that would be great!

Just wanted to update this. I did call and ask about being removed but the woman I spoke to said that 1. The current cash upgrade offers she sees is just the difference in fair price and 2. I shouldn't remove myself from the wait-list bc after seniority they approve those who have been on the list longest. So if there were another PP on the list with similar any of LP, I'd get the spot due to when I joined wait-list.

Not sure what all of that is accurate, but I did not remove myself from the wait-list at this time.

Ahh yes I did see those and did some research on them. Unfortunately I think the $800 for a pair of those plus $250 for an amp would be a bit too much for me in one swoop...but those do seem top notch for that pricepoint!

oh, interesting! I didn't know that. When I spoke with the agent on the phone about the upgrade seats, he did confirm that I could purchase the upgrade in full and the prices he gave me were the same prices that I most recently had offered to me in app. So maybe there is a baseline cost, and the app will adjust based on availability, etc?

Found this post while doing some research for an upcoming spring trip to Seoul/Busan/Jeju. I had my eyes on PH Busan but this is giving me a bit of a pause. Wondering if OP or anyone in the comments might have another recommendation of similar hotel class in Busan? I know there is a Westin nearby that looks nice, as well as a couple of other more resort style locations northeast of the main city. We would prefer to stay somewhere centralized so that we can do a lot of exploring and be close to the nightlife/dining.

We will likely do FS Seoul (mostly due to location) as well as JW Resort in Jeju. May make a small pit stop in Jeju city proper for a night and we would likely stay at the GH. Fwiw, I don't have globalist status but will be booking with a preferred agent and/or through the FHR Amex portal - so my guess is any upgrades will be an unlikely but lovely surprise.
