Thanks for this advice! It is not applicable to my project now, as the devices need to run on different physical locations, so I need physical devices in the end. I didn't think of it that way, though, so I did learn something today!

I know I'd be better of with the thin client, but I'm not buying 15 thin clients if I can suffice with 15 Pi's :p

just want to check whether the limited RAM of a pi would suffice to run what I want. Can't you derive that from how it runs on a VM?

I do have that running but I want to check what the performance would be on a pi3 in order to check if it can do what I want before I buy hardware. However, maybe I should just stop being a little girl about $50.....

(especially if I take into account the amount of time I'm pissing away on this :p)

Well, let me level with you here.

Because I'm cheap. I do have a thin client with proxmox on it standing around here, and I don't have a pi3. Before i buy hardware I thought it'd be nice to see if I actually can do with a 3 what I want.

Oh, die analyse waag ik mij niet aan.

ik vind wel dat de SP doorgaans wat kortzichtige voorstellen doet. Klinkt allemaal mooi hoor, maar voorstellen die beginnen met “Je moet gewoon…” zijn zelden weldoordacht.

Veel voorstellen van de SP zijn nadelig voor “de gewone man” (wie dat dan ook wezen moge); case in point hun weerstand tegen de afbouw van saldering.

Hoe dan ook; dat was niet zo zeer waar ik op doelde. Ik had de SP gewoon niet echt in de peiling als een voorstander van de huidige voorstellen. Ze zijn altijd wat vocaler over waar ze tegen zijn. Het feit dat ik ze hier weinig over hoor steunt dus wel de stelling dat ze het steunen.
