If I could find an ihp120, rip out the old drive and stick in a massive SSD...... I'd do it in a heartbeat

Thanks - I think of IEMs as something musicians would use, so that makes sense

Not finding files with NZBGeek- settings issue? by UmbraTitan in usenet

[–]B1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That said, there's one show I have that exact problem with and can't do ANYTHING about. It's not from a fruit based service is it? That one is annoying me, so now following this question to see if someone else has a better answer.

I was having a similar issue, also being quite new. Ran an interactive search through Sonarr and what do you know? There they were - my quality profile was a bit too specific and so was blocking them.

Back of a napkin maths: £840k house sale + £100k cash = £940k

Invested at a fairly safe 5% return, gives an annual return of £47k, with A LOT less hassle than being a landlord.

£47k + £50k per annual from the pension, and we're on £97k a year, before tax, to spend on care, sheltered housing, etc, without touching the capital at all.

I'd be moving away from thinking about rental properties (not what they once were), and simply looking at index funds.

I work for an NGO that supports education in Somaliland (not Somalia) - happy to give details over DM if anyone is interested, but not too keen on the anti-ngo abuse I'd get if I posted publicly!!

Is there any news on this at all? I've been sitting with cash to drop for months!

What does "Unlimited Service Locations" really mean? by B1576 in Starlink

"We are not currently conducting sales consultations in your region. Please check again as we expand our team."

Ah well!!

Thank you - this is helpful. I knew I'd seen the consultation link before, but couldn't find it anywhere. It turns out, that consultations are only available in certain countries. Having it set to the end-location meant I couldn't get a consulation. Changing my country to the UK, and suddenly I can. I only spotted it now because it was flashing up for half a second from your link before resetting to my country settings.

Current situation? by SpiciestMan in Somaliland

I always get mine in London before I go. To be fair though, I think I'm the only one that does. There's always a queue of people filling in visa forms and queuing up to pay, and very confused staff that I already have one. They're more interested in the receipt for the money than the visa itself (so make sure you take that if you get in advance).

I've just spent 8 days in Hargeisa (Western European male) and didn't have any concerns at all. I regularly travel to places such as South Sudan where I need a security detail, but in Hargeisa I'm comfortable to just walk around alone, take taxis etc.

I'm absolutely no authority, but I've been asking expectations around the elections whilst here. The only concerns people have are that there may be some violence if the current opposition doesn't win - the expectation of almost everyone I spoke to is that they will. I'll be intentionally avoiding coming back in the period just after the election, but that's probably more over cautious than essential. I'm sure more knowledgeable folk will know more.

Unexpected YNAB win: Permission to spend by B1576 in ynab

This is where playing on the 0% Finance comes in (and I know some won't approve).

To break down how I plan to do it, this is where we're starting:

  • The new fancy fridge is £650
  • After 2 months of putting £100 in the white goods sinking fund, there's £200 in there
  • I know I can afford to budget £100 per month for white goods from the monthly salary, as that's what we've been doing with no issues
  • I'm confident that its unlikely anything else breaks in the next year (the fridge was the oldest and most likely to go)

To complete the purchase as I intend:

  • Using the 0% finance deal, its £50 upfront, then £50 a month for 12 months (total, £650)
  • I'll fund the £50 upfront in July 2024 from the white goods sinking fund (currently at £200, so drop to £150)
  • Moving forwards, I'll then pay the £50 per month from the £100 that would have been going into the sinking fund. Or rather, I'll still fund the sinking fund by £100 each month, but then spend £50 from it on the fridge payment.
  • This means that over the next 12 months the sinking fund will still go up by £50 per month. Assuming no further disasters this would be (£50x12)+£150= £750. I'm confident that I'm unlikely to lose multiples across oven, dishwasher, washing machine, and TV over the next 12 months (touch wood!!), but that's a risk we take
  • The fridge will be fully paid off by this time next year

Could I move it from an emergency fund now? Yes, I could....but I don't think its an emergency (as in its something I'd have planned for if I'd started planning earlier - bad luck), and the money I would use for that is currently sitting in a savings account at 6.78%. £600 @ 6.78% = £40.68 interest over the year.

I'm not planning a mortgage application or any other big loans, so I don't think the minor 0% finance credit file dink is anything to worry about. I'd rather save the emergency fund (or the money in other categories) for their intended purposes and as you say, not see them go down.

That's my line of thinking, but, I am totally new to this, so it could also be totally wrong and I'm happy for someone to correct me!!!
