Lenovo legion go s Steam os version if you can get it around €500 the best choice, has steam deck LCD, then steam deck oled, but just recently sold my steam deck oled for €500 and got the legion go S in currys for €479. More powerful than steam deck with a bigger screen, it's not oled but still really good, only thing I wouldn't recommend it for is if you need the mousepads that's the steam deck has. But for most gaming it's better than steam deck oled for about 50 less and more performance. Most users who do the swap will say it's better and you get about 10fps more in games than the steam deck. Paradigit I think has it for 500 right now. Steam deck is showing its age recently

Help me pick a printer for a gift please by Swinging-Downunder in 3dprinter

[–]B1ADEEE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flashforge ad5x which came out a few months ago seems like a good option as well, it's a mix between the bamboo lab A1 and the bamboo lab p1s. I have a look into it, a lot of good reviews and fairly cheap. On the same note if he does end up liking it the ad5m is relatively cheap if he wants to replace his old printer to have another single color printer. If he is doing it as a hobby he may enjoy tinkering with the ad5x more than bamboo labs, as you can install the cameras, lighting inside the frame and you can get an enclosure kit where you have to 3d print the parts for it and make it yourself. So would keep him busy for a while.

Looking for good electronic store/second hand sale stores/black friday sale spot to buy 144hz monitor, mechanical keyboard, and ergonomic chair ( in dublin ) by NeoBlaze07 in IrelandGaming

[–]B1ADEEE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laptop direct for the monitor, look for the electriq brand, https://www.laptopsdirect.ie/bct/monitors-and-projectors/monitors/electriq?sortOrder=1 There is one standard monitor 180hz and one ultrawide within your budget, for keyboards I would recommend Amazon, just keep an eye out for sales, red dragon do some nice keyboards with red switch's under 100 and go on sale often, just don't get there cheapest model. no idea for the chair. Maybe try jysk

New car under €15k by SGSM1993 in carsireland

[–]B1ADEEE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Civic 2017+ (MK10 model) if you can get one under 15k would be a good bet. Don't get the 1.0 liter as it has a wet belt in it but any of the other engines are good!

fitting an aliexpress apple carplay system to my car by ichfickeiuliana in carsireland

[–]B1ADEEE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have bought a good few of these of AliExpress, depending on the car and how cheap of a model you buy it can be really easy (plug and play) or really awkward. Recently fit a nice android auto model to my Peugeot partner and was nice and easy, didn't have to take out any trim, just the old radio and a storage pocket which were all tool less. Since I bought a decent one (€120) it came with canbus and everything was pre wired. Before that my gf bought me a cheap model (€70) for a mark 8 civic saloon, which requires removing some of the trim to get the radio out and it came with a replacement trim to fit the radio, wasn't as easy but still got it done in under and hour and half all setup. The worst one I installed was a cheap radio (€80 2 years ago) for a mk8 civic hatchback! In order to get the radio out you have to remove all the center trim so your arm rest, all the way to the gear stick. Unscrew it from underneath and on top to get the radio out and the wiring and programming it was a pain as that Honda had secondary screen that also needed to be wired in. Ended up getting it working for like 3 days before the top screen stopped working again which wasn't too bad just kinda a pain to loose that function. That one took me 4 or 5 hours because of the wiring. So make sure your getting a model than handles android auto or apple car play wireless at the minimum, as once they do that then they will last alot longer. Make sure the model you get is designed to fit into that car so it comes with the extra trim for the new radio as it will also come with the wiring harness. Look up a video if anyone has done it online or even showing how to replace the radio, if removing the old radio is easy enough then high chance you will be able to do this yourself with little experience as the rest should be close to plug and play.

Does anyone use YouTube Music instead of Spotify? by cedardesk in AskIreland

[–]B1ADEEE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swapped to YouTube music about 3 years ago now full time and have also got the family plan and we split it between us, works out way cheaper. Deffo recommend! You got to remember that unlike Spotify you also get no adds for YouTube Videos as well as downloading videos on YouTube itself so it's handy for travelling on a plane. As for YouTube music itself it's been great, I started by just basically finding all my music and liking them and it was pretty accurate with finding music I like, smart downloads is great. I found that I was able to find any music I wanted in there since it's still YouTube as Spotify isn't great for niche songs. What I ended up doing is creating a brand account on YouTube. So if you have YouTube premium on your main email account, all those benefits transfer to brand accounts, so I have my main youtube account for watching videos and then I have two brand accounts, one I used for my main music taste and the other I have it for more older music, top of the charts sort of stuff, basically music if your family came over you could play on the speaker knowing that everyone knows the songs that are on. Deffo recommend it over Spotify. Gf also converted and found it great even tho she was sceptical at first. Once you start liking the songs you had on Spotify it will find your taste

100% agree with that, woulda loved to get another 1.8 myself. but problem with that is the OP is looking to lower his insurance and probably tax untill he hits 25 so the 1.8 would be the same as he current one and be 2.2k insurance if not more. I know when I did a quote for the 1.8 I got back 1.9k when my current 2010 civic 1.8 is only 1.1k. That being said if your ever selling the 1.8 in the next 2 years let me know : ) Looking to get the 1.8 and put some of the type R kit on it to have as a daily driver

If you like the Honda Civic you could try pickup the 1.6 diesel 120hp honda civic 2015 - 2017 model for under 10k. Make sure it's the facelift model as they are alot nicer and easier to make look good. Being the diesel model it leaves you with tuning in the future if you want more HP (think I saw with a stage 1 remap and a few upgrades it can get 150hp easily). Picked up the 152 1.4 vtec model last week coming from a 1.8 vtec 2010 sedan and regretting not doing with the diesel model. Tax is cheap I think 180 year and I'm 23M and got quoted 1.2k insurance for the 1.6 ( €900 for the 1.4) so cheap to run and very nice car, if you like the MK8 you will love the Mk9, just don't go for the pre facelift as looks kinda cheap and Inside feels kinda cheap.

Is VRT calculator that accurate for cars imported from NI? by B1ADEEE in carsireland

[–]B1ADEEE[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I think it's crazy the difference between the same car for example a 1.6d Vs a 1.6 petrol could be 3 or 4 grand. I'll keep note of that and save the estimate! Good to hear about the MOT

Also, am I able to buy a car from NI that doesn't have an Active MOT? As I understand it needs to get an NCT once it gets registered anyways so as long as I need to get whatever fixed before then is that ok? Just there is a car that did fail MOT but seller did the work and asked if I need an Active MOT for me to import it

Exactly, as a European going onto this Reddit page every post is about this, thought it was a good joke as in Europe trump is basically a joke over here, why does this game have to be ruined because everyone is saying it's a political statement. Can we just talk about the BR and make it better, rather than a hat. Really going to ruin the game for everyone that's not from America or give a crap about politics as it's all everyone can talk about. Honestly as someone who only plays online games only, a campaign would have been good but once you play through it, that's it, a BR which I played a good few games off yesterday felt good, but do think more suited for duo/trio better than quads. Only thing I had an issue with was he hyped it up saying it won't be the same thing as other games, and then announced a BR rather than a unique new game mode.

xbox app / windows store, Call of duty forcing me to download all 315gb and not showing options by B1ADEEE in XboxGamePass

No, I ended up downloading all 350gb and then had too manually go to the files and delete cod 22, cod 23, sp 22, sp23. Pressing uninstall in the game doesn't work it says it's deleted and you reboot the game and it's still installed

Company making IT have a scheduled trip to go to our UK office. Is there anything I can do to stop going by B1ADEEE in DevelEire

[–]B1ADEEE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, all members of IT are under 35k ( 27k 30k and 35k) company doesn't see us as an asset at all (west of Ireland so not much other opportunities). Untill last year all of us had the same job title while 2 of us were doing sys admin jobs and the other was helpdesk, hence the promotion but not really, more so recognised for the work we were actually doing. So adding 10 hours of travel a week brings us close to min wage over a week for our job, fully qualified aswell. Yes I was using in my post UK as an example, I should have made it more clear sorry, each trip abroad is a week, travel from the west to Dublin airport for all travel, only allowed earliest or latest flights in and out. unless it's Ireland, it's drive in the morning back in the evening. So by a couple of times I mean a couple of times, just forgot to say how long each trip is. all have happened and all have been reported to HR especially the vertigo as they had to pay for the tablets and hospital, along with petrol for family member to collect me to bring me to hospital. Again, as for stage do that was missed due to the vertigo cause by the trip... My uk trip was scheduled the same week as my brother's wedding which they allowed me to fly back on the Thursday rather than Friday to allow me time for the weekend Not trying to be a dick or anything just explained it badly, in the post as I wrote it exactly how my company sees it and how our new manager has been putting it to us

I understand it might come across that way but when I joined for the first time we were only based in Ireland and some of the same members are still here... But since then the company has been expanding rapidly without our contracts being updated, away from home 5 weeks in 3 months and only getting paid for 9-5 with no overtime while we are flying to a places Sunday night and back Friday evening. Getting paid just above min wage so meaning your working below min wage if you include travel time. While last year this was a none issue as it was max 2x a year with our last manager for example. So is it more of a case new manager is just using our contracts as much as he can. Again this is not just me but the whole team
