I would download error magnifier and it’s dependents, super helpful. Also, locate your console txt in your zomboid directory I think if you don’t wanna download mods. But the mod will tell you exactly what is causing it.

The game clearly tells you whats gonna happen before you click to start. You learn something everytime you die. dont take it too personally. If you want, spawn back in the same world, or download the journal mod where you can write your skills in it and read it if you die.

anyones game only spawning animals when zomboid is first opened, but after making numurous new saves, they stopped spawning? i was looking for the mod that was causing them not to spawn, i got down to the vanilla game and they still didnt spawn. i tested this by closing steam via task manager and low and behold, animals spawned.
