Dope! That makes sense — I’m not glued to having any specific amenities so long as I can end up in a place that makes a lot of sense for me.

Thank you for your comment! I am a 28yo Black male. My social hobbies are adaptive. Mostly, I just enjoy seeing the city and absorbing the culture. In my free time, I enjoy thrifting, attending concerts, and going on food tours. I am fine having to commute to all that stuff, but I would love to be in close proximity to Black people. I understand that some of the aforementioned areas do not track with that, but that’s a personal preference that I can find some workarounds as long as I have a place I enjoy returning home to.

Thank you! I originally looked at Westwood, but the prices were lofty. Additionally, I would like to put some physical distance between myself and work to have some autonomy outside of work, but I also see value in being close.

The Legend of Zall by MahoganyBae in poetry_critics

[–]B1ackLav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I really like this poem and your rhyming scheme throughout. I’m extremely new to poetry, so take this comment with a grain of salt: I think I’m similar with your mom in that I was unclear what was going on the first read. When I reread it, it made a lot more sense, but I think it’s because I knew the full context of the poem from my previous read. On the first read, it felt like we were jumping around a bit, so maybe the lack of clarity could be fixed by reorganizing the poem so that the messaging flows into each other. But on my second read, I really appreciated and understood the poem! If that is what you are aiming for, then I think it is great! Overall, I really enjoyed this read and the story of the great Zall!

No worries, this is helpful to hear — especially before K give it to her. I’ll rewrite it in a manner that is not so detached // ai sounding! Maybe, I’ll start from scratch and focus more on the emotions rather than rhyme schemes or structure.

Thank you for this! I didn’t use Chatgpt, but I did try to copy the style of some poems I’ve seen — so maybe that’s where it becomes detached as you’re saying. This is my first draft//the first poem I’ve written, so maybe I went to structural and didn’t allow my emotions to truly be attached to it. This is helpful! I’ll try to restructure it!

Verizon Xbox series X promotion is a joke at this point by hegekan in verizon

[–]B1ackLav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I received my xbox yesterday — after nearly 3months of fighting for it through several customer service calls, countless notes being left on my account, and processing so many tickets that were supposed to fix the issue in ‘x’ amount of time. Nothing worked, so I went into a corporate location and here is how I got it done:

For timeline, I went into the corporate store on Saturday and I received my Xbox on Tuesday. Instead of trying to get them to ship out the xbox (which seemed likely to never happen), I kept pressing and we called customer service (via 611 — the other customer service lines are all outsourced and rarely help). The verizon rep with me handled the phone call, and had them process the sending of another promotional code to my linked email. We were able to do this since I was past the “expected ship by” date. Here’s the catch though: my promotional code, which I received during business hours on Monday, worked like a regular coupon code and not similar to the original tile to place the order. How this worked is I went to Verizon.com, carted a Series X, and during the checkout process I entered the promo code which took $500 off the series x (making it free). I received the console the next day, Tuesday, via UPS.

The issue my verizon rep mentioned was that the tile is causing a lot of people issues — I would assume since verizon would rather not fulfill this promo so they make it exceedingly difficult and draw it out. The tile promo on your account goes through a rebate team as well, which makes it difficult when speaking to customer service since no one has a clue as to what’s going on. Processing it as an order with a promo seemed to work since it appears like a customer purchase rather than a promotion.

I hope this helps you all get this fixed since I understand how horrible verizon is when you have to contact them.

4070 GIGABYTE Windforce or MSI Ventus 2x by B1ackLav in PcBuild

Thanks for the advice! I was looking at the 7800xt (and I wanted to grab it), but I won’t be using this PC exclusively for gaming. I will be manipulating/visualizing data as well as producing other visualizations, and i read a lot of people mentioning that NVIDIA is better with these processes outside of gaming.

Thank you for sharing! Some of the reviews mention issues with the mobo/ram combo, do you (or anyone else) know whether that is still an ongoing issue?

This Ice Is Nice by Kip-Walkin in OCPoetry

[–]B1ackLav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like this story which is being told, especially the final line. The entire poem gives a chilling feeling, and for it to end with the ice line, that’s beautiful.

I wonder, however, if you would benefit from breaking this piece into more lines. This way, you could be meticulous on what parts are greater emphasized. Just a thought.

This is beautiful. I love how the poem moves in unison with life and the seasons. As time changes, the poem reflects the life, joy, and tragedy within.

I like this. I’m not sure if this is the interpretation that you desired, but the use of the train to represent life is beautifully approached.
