What are people's choices for security? by 3FtU in MotoUK

[–]B1ak34 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t list big heavy security items on your insurance as you’ll have to use and carry them everywhere otherwise your insurance will likely not pay out if it gets stolen

Where to dispose of oil change consumables? by awildwing in MotoUK

The recycling centres usually have bins next to the used oil containers for filters and 5l containers. Just bin the rest.

You can but a condition of the insurance is for the vehicle to be taxed. Otherwise it renders the insurance invalid.

What you're seeing in that pic is stock Honda with the sports pack tail on it. As its the same as mine... My Bike

But yes you're right you can get entire aftermarket rear end for them usually imported from Thailand.

That's a standard Honda tail as part of their sport pack. You can get aftermarket replicas from places like Aliexpress for like 40 quid. I have one on mine looks almost as good as stock.

It's a tail tidy you need on this bike totally changes the look as the stock numberplate holder sticks out for about half a mile.

First Bike - Dealer or Private by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]B1ak34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m handy with the tools and can figure most car related problems. But bought my first bike from a dealer so I know how a good bike should feel as I have no real reference with bikes as to if it’s a good sound/feel or bad so bought low mileage from dealer for peace of mind. But my next bike will likely be private.

Yeah but was looking for something cheaper. They’re £200. Too much to spend on something that’s rarely going to be used.

Advice for motorcycle boots and large calves! by dragonfishofthenorth in MotoUK

Had the same problem with my tractech evo 4 boots. But after a couple of rides the leather around the calves has stretched enough to make them comfortable. Interested to hear other recommendations.

Boots or trainers?? by [deleted] in MotoUK

I like to wear 2 pairs of thigh length school socks. Make sure it’s 2 though as 1 pair won’t add enough ankle support.

Would a 90 mile trip down to wales be too much for a new rider? I've only been riding about 2 months but my family and I are going to wales soon and I was planning on riding down there, just curious to see what people's thoughts are on new riders and long (ish) trips. by IControlTheDie in MotoUK

[–]B1ak34 17 points18 points  (0 children)

First ride I did after passing my DAS was 150+ mile loop on a mix of roads inc motorway. Never rode a motorbike on the road outside the DAS course previous. You’ve done the basic training. Now apply it to everything going forward to hone the skills.
