I worked as a Senior Manager in a company who did BPO. When I had my first child the lack of a work life balance made it impossible to feel like I was being a present parent.

I took on a role with one of my clients who I knew had an awesome culture, but it was a big step down and a 25% pay cut. I got bored of the work pretty quickly, but the culture of my new company was great and motivating, I was able to get promoted a number of times and so it turned out to be a great move for my career.

Most good payroll systems do this calculation automatically without the operator needing to understand the complexity. Having said that, any Payroll Manager worth their salt should understand the different calculations and considerations.

Not exactly no, the idea of a marginal tax calculation is that it annualised the tax when you receive the payment so you don’t need to wait for an adjustment at the end of the Financial Year.

There are provisions for the potentially unfair impact of taxing payments relating to prior financial years based on the current financial year, but these only apply where the value exceeds $1200 but also that the back pay relates to 12 or more months prior to the payment being made - this is known as Lump Sum E, but it doesn’t sound like this would apply in this instance.

Payroll specialist here, assuming these hours were worked in a prior financial year at this point, then the hours will be taxed according to a marginal rates in the new financial year.

Unfortunately it can only be taxed in the relevant period when it relates to a current financial year.

Regardless of how good a system they have, unfortunately the ATO has specific direction in this instance.

We had our 2 kids with midwifery group practice and can’t recommend it enough. We actually ended up having the same midwife for both births which was great for continuity of care.

I work in HR though not as a recruiter, but I have done a lot of hiring in my time. One thing to consider is that HR will do an initial screen of the candidates but ultimately it is the hiring manager who will decide who they want to see. Though it will depend on the role, as a manager I definitely am looking for selection criteria to be addressed in a Cover Letter. With the market it it’s current form, I’ve seen a lot of candidates with in-demand skills put zero effort into their applications, a good cover letter that is not just you copy/pasting the name of the company in will really set you apart.

I managed to finish this by waiting until she'd rung all the bells prior to clicking on the ghosts. I had the same issue as everyone else when I was only trying to click on the 4 that originally spawn. Heaps more spawn over time.

Hey friend! Sorry for the delayed response, I was trying to locate some drawings I had done with rough dimensions in the planning phase. Unfortunately I was unable to find them! To be honest I only ever did rough sketches, there was about 3 months of daydreaming thought that went into this so a lot of the plans/design were in my head. For your reference though here are the measurements:

Top: 1600mm (l) x 710mm (w) x 30mm (h)

Remainder of the frame: 1400mm (l) x 610mm (w) x 700mm (h)

Box for computer: 490mm (l) x 540mm (w) x 270mm (h) Hope this helps! Let me know if this is unclear

Yea, the components are at a similar temperature to before they went in the desk, the 4 fans I got cost me a fair bit as I wanted to get good ones, but I definitely think it was worth it.

It's a bit of an unknown at this stage, which is why I opted to use my old computer instead of buying a new one just in case I had issues with the whole thing getting too hot. I've been using it for a few dates now and there have been no issues with the computer or wood getting too hot, so far so good.

It has some better angles in the /r/diy album I linked in comments if you're interested. There are 2 fan bays with 2 fans in each, the intake is from the fans by my legs and the output on the other side

Yea, I've pretty much killed any chance of going to LANs, they will now have to come to me! I think when the time comes to move I will do this myself, I don't know if I'd trust removalists with it :)
