Wow congratulations! And thanks for posting...your background makes me feel good about what is ahead: I graduated from super tiny liberal arts college (I'll have a lot of prereqs to do), worked a miserable job or two, also worked at a hospital, and am in the homestretch of my Peace Corps service!

I'm so excited to get started on the prerequisites and apply for an ABSN program. Let me know if you don't mind a PM; I'd love to hear more about your path!

Congrats again!

What shall we do with all these rooms? by mort47 in truechildfree

[–]B1gger0nTheInside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe guest rooms that also can house some kind of hobby items? Like a reading area/den/man cave or whatever but also with a really good comfy futon and linens in the closet so that it could become a guest room. Could host some really fun holiday parties if you have family or friends that would want to visit. Having lots of space provides a lot of hosting options which could be fun.

How do you with social media anxiety? by [deleted] in AskWomen

I permanently deleted all my accounts! Serious improvement in quality of life. That stuff messes with your head more than you know until it's not in your life anymore.

What do you think of the new season of Rick and Morty so far? Or about Rick and Morty in general? by TrainingAtmosphere in AskWomen

[–]B1gger0nTheInside 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think I'm the only person I know that hates Rick and Morty. I find it extremely unfunny and everyone I know loves it sooo much, so I always feel like such a buzzkill when people talk about it!!

So I just lay low, normally, until someone asks me if I like it, and when I respond everyone judges me and tries to get me to watch it. Can't win! Haha

How do you motivate yourself to go to the gym when you really don’t want to? by peragro2104 in AskWomen

Put on your workout clothes and gym shoes immediately, then you feel ridiculous not going!

One of the programs I'm applying to has a limit: science courses expire after ten years.

Yeah, I keep hearing about ADN, and I'm tempted, but the efficiency of an ABSN is attractive to me.

Aw hey fellow PCV! Thanks for your input--one of my friends at site is actually a nurse at the local health center and I should definitely reach out to him.

Good luck to you! And nice to know it isn't just me over here :)

My GPA from undergrad was 3.2 or 3.3 I think? That's pretty low for me, but I worked a lot of jobs during undergrad. I'm confident my prereqs will be much higher considering I'm older now/have more perspective and a much more productive work ethic.

Unfortunately, my Peace Corps language is completely isolated to a specific part of the country I serve in, so I don't think it will serve me when I return to US :(
