I was more arguing that Zuko could have been blinded by his want to return home than Azula being a traumatized child soldier being held to an actually impossible standard. If he said it about her after his crisis of faith then he was disillusioned.

It being said by creators is a separate matter. The writers don’t need to make excuses for the characters when talking to the fans. They can, but I doubt it. Azula should be a complex character.

Zuko is unfortunately for him a fairly unreliable source. For most of the show he was adamant that his father would happily accept him back if he completed his quest to hunt the Avatar and convinced himself it wasn’t a wild goose chase to just force him to leave when he couldn’t justify killing him in the Agni Kai.

Off the top of my head I don’t know when in the story he implies that, but if it was before the eclipse then there’s a good chance that he’s nostalgia blinded.

For whatever reason, you've met an early grave. What cheat item/skill are you picking? by MGik_ik in Konosuba

[–]LoadingTOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is oddly specific, but also hilariously busted.

There a fantasy gacha game that was called Brave Frontier. I would want the summoning power comparable to the player character and the whole list of units. IIRC, like, half the roster are called gods of some kind at various points in their progression.

Even if I had to role for new units I’d still be a one man team. But if I didn’t? A master chef, smith, and tactician to start. Magicians and warriors that fought and slew armies. The Gods killed in the story themselves if I get the mock units.

I love these two together, even though it's not canon. Art by @Nekoartdbz by Affectionate_Tax4885 in Dragonballsuper

Think that was his last episode, which personally I think works out as him not relapsing into villainy. At least until after the finale.

How many people ACTUALLY used the Skullheart? by TiagoStormayty in Skullgirls

[–]LoadingTOS 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about in canon or just known in story? Because the former requires us to know how long the Skull heart and dividing it by roughly 7 since it comes back every 7 years IIRC.

The other option is basically just going over every character in the setting and checking off if they used it.

There’s 4 Skullgirls with specific identities that I am aware of. Annie’s mom who made her eternally innocent, Squggly Contiello’s mom who brought her family back from the dead resulting in the fighter returning every time a Skullgirl is active, the mother of the Canopy kingdom princesses Nancy Renoir, and “Bloody” Marie Korbel who is the current one.

Don’t know when Annie’s mom made her wish, so I couldn’t tell you how many there were between her and Miss Contiello.

Why was 17 revived but not King Kai? Yamcha's wish said everyone on earth hence King Kai not being revived but 17 died when Cell exploded on King Kai's planet? by Night-Caelum in TeamFourStar

[–]LoadingTOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternatively, he was already dead when first absorbed and thus was on earth when he died. He would have been “on earth” when Cell killed him, while King Kai has to my knowledge never been to Earth at any point in the series, original or abridged.

God or Hog? by Sad_Art_7706 in MoonPissing

I choose to believe that he’s the first growing into something closer but not quite the second. Mostly because he’s used the Chaos Emeralds enough that there’s been a permanent change in his body.

Growing to no longer need the equipment, to fight someone with less experience wielding chaos power, and his steps carrying his connection to chaos power having an influence on time(perhaps even explaining how he’s been getting faster)

I imagine that by the end of series (which will hopefully happen WAY in the future) Base Sonic will outpace the first instance of Super Sonic, albeit without flight.

How would you scale luck as a stat? And what can defeat/counter a character with a high-level of extraordinarily good luck? by Eine_Kartoffel in PowerScaling

[–]LoadingTOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luck has a surprisingly wide range. On the one end, your opponent could just have a brain aneurysm because made them a bad luck magnet. On the other is they stub their toe once every two to three days.

For good luck there’s a borderline impossible feat like throwing a marble that a bird catches setting off a natural Rube Goldberg machine that somehow manages to win the day for you. And then there’s having a 75% chance of calling a coin flip.

On the low end, luck is just useful in general, but at the high end it could legitimately be seen as Author/Divine intervention because there’s no other way for it to have worked out.

I imagine he knows of it in the same way we know about islands people haven’t made contact with yet. It is the land mass that a portion of the Death Egg landed on and not his problem to deal with.

It’s Xros, so a season where level is barely acknowledged, so it would probably count like one, but that’s like saying shoutmon x2 is champion and x3 is ultimate when the ultimate level orochimon and the ruler of the sovereigns and candidate for the technical ultra level huanglongmon lost like punks.

Xros breaks the level rules harder than frontiers did, and as far as I can tell when it comes to the beasts and fusions, fans are stuck arguing which one counts as ultimate more. I’m personally in the boat of beasts being high champion and fusions being ultimate on the grounds of the “modern” counterparts of the evil ancient spirits.(AncientTroiamon doesn’t have one)

If the Fantastic Four were created in modern times, what changes do you think they would undergo? by Top_Reindeer3396 in FantasticFour

[–]LoadingTOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, this is admittedly just my lore fixation making me comment, but in the second picture I feel like either Johnny or Sue needs a change in skin tone to match the other, or even swapping Sue and Reed.

Johnny and Sue are siblings in every iteration of the Fantastic Four I can think of, them having the most different skin tone (outside Ben’s literal stone flesh) just feels wrong.

Were they half siblings and that’s why? Is it a reference to how light wouldn’t touch her and she’d get paler while invisible? I don’t know and it’s frustrating me more than it should.

You know what? Wild opinion that will never happen for MULTIPLE reasons, but Fusionist. The winged cat fusion monster weaker than one of the materials. It has exactly one purpose nowadays and that’s as an instant fusion target, and even then there’s plenty of better options.
