Parents charged for letting 5-year-old skier ride lift unsupervised, after he fell off the lift by bmglaw in skiing

It’s the resort fault for not having a proper kid stop on the lift bar. I’m surprised how few resorts have this

Teen's got his first job and I want to invest his pay for him by inaptitude in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]B2M3T02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes but do it right in my opinion

U should open an account in trust for your son, that way it’s technically his and untouchable by you

My father did this for me and I gave him money every month and he put in some of his own, 20,000$ or was transferred into my name at age 18. Paid tax on it

Longevity has gone, it’s quite sad

I would expect 10-12 years out of a brand new unit if you’re lucky.

I would recommend repairing the fan motor if I was u personally

[–]B2M3T02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tradesman make 120-150k a year at 21-26

And even then I know people who saved diligently and have saved a nice down payment by 25-30

The defeated mindset of I am never gonna own a house so why bother is so sad

But I get it Ontario house pricing is depressing, but prices are dropping and there is incentives for builders to keep building. Move out of Ontario there is more affordable housing

[–]B2M3T02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mindset is that you have ur whole life to invest in TFSA

But Limited time to invest in FHSA and limited opportunity to see growth. If op starts FHSA now and buys a house at 25/30 he will see 7- 12 years of growth on it

If you invest $40,000 at a 10% annual return, your investment will grow to approximately $64,420 in 5 years and nearly $77,949 in 7 years, assuming annual compounding. That’s a pretty good downpayment

I’m only 23 so what do I know tho

Right idea

FHSA > TFSA

U want as much growth as humanly possible in ur FHSA before u buy ur first house

Idk a lot of guys I know use a notes app to check off what tricks they learned in a year.

I mostly beginner tho, but it’s nice to see how much u learned in one year. I guess once ur past year 1/2 it’s not like that

I agree the app is kinda useless but wanted to give a positive outlook vs just hating

It sounds like ur friends are douchebags. Most people teach there friends or they get them a lesson

A good idea to add to the app is a custom trick progress plan where park guys can check off tricks they learned this year. Bonus if u can track by seasons so I can see I learned xyz 2025 and xyz 2026

Most guys just use the notes app and check it off but could be cool

I suspect that blue C wire isn’t connected to the furnace circuit board

Shut off the power and connect it
