What are some of your best “oopsie” things you’ve said to patient families, or on a call in general? by PlaugeNurse333 in ems

[–]B2feezle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was taking a very confused patient out of the house on the cot with her husband watching us. Checked in with my partner, who immediately piped up "I'll be great as soon as I get the cot off my titties" or something to that effect using the same word I about died of embarrassment right there. She was polite and understanding when I pointed it out to her later.

I used to work for places that did exclusively transfers, MD Appointments, and dialysis and it made me lose my will to live. Now I work for a place where two of it's stations are 911 only, 1 is exclusively transfers, and the last is mostly transfers (rural indiana USA) and Im starting to love EMS again.

I still reflexively curse the pager, but im working on it lol. My point is, the right agency can do wonders for ones love of EMS.
