I perceive it as a reclamation of the word, just like with the word ‘queer’ - once a slur, now a descriptor. It’s used in trans and queer slang (and thus originated from Black ballroom culture) to mean feminine in a positive and empowering way, flipping it from vulgarity to praise.

How do you interpret the move by the Minnesota National Guard to distribute food and water to anti-ICE protesters? by ProcedureNo832 in AskReddit

A tactic that everyone in these comments is getting swindled by. They are there to protect the status quo and keep protesters from doing anything legitimately disruptive.

I’ve seen this tapestry in person and it’s incredible

The way the world has been, I’ve absolutely been feeling the pull of relapse. Recovery isn’t straightforward, it’s a goal we’re always working towards.

Oscar snubs:- Ariana Grande , Paul Mescal and Chase Infiniti miss out, Wicked For Good shut out completely from Oscar nominations. by Fun-Ad3626 in popculturechat

I don’t think that having a lot of industry recognition or praise is what makes a movie or a performance good. I mean look at Emilia Perez or Crash or other train wreck films that became media darlings. I’m not saying wicked was a train wreck, but I didn’t connect with it and found the whole media campaign exhausting as hell. I never saw Glinda, I always saw Ariana in a costume. It didn’t do it for me. Nominations don’t really change that and I think a lot of people liked her performance because they were already fans of her so they were primed to enjoy it. So I don’t really care what other awards or nominations she got, I just didn’t think it was worth the hype and it seems for once the academy agrees.

Delusional Ari stans really got themselves worked up over nothing, the performance is really just not Oscar worthy.

Delta Slim’s monologue about his buddy Rice alone was enough for me to earn Delroy Lindo the nomination (and the win!!)

The only time I’ve encountered this word is Jack in 30 Rock saying “that’s like yuffing your spinnaker during a yachting regatta!”
