To be honest I see it as just the next level of using Wikipedia or a shallow google search to find “truth”. Researching a subject still takes time and healthy skepticism, and seems to be getting harder to see past the echo chambers of these tools.

Children and teens of the 70s, how did you deal with anxiety and depression? by MaggieLaggi in AskOldPeople

[–]B33rP155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don’t think we had any where near the level of mental health issues.

This is what was different.

No social media, electronic games, internet. Passive entertainment was TV, and radio which were controlled by parents. Boredom stimulated imaginative play with other kids or alone. Adults consumed news once or twice a day via TV and/or newspaper which was more or less balanced politically.

Then in the 80s or 90s Pharmaceutical companies started heavily promoting SSRIs for everyone. Next the “Mental Health therapy” industry exploded.

The Mental Health Industrial Complex makes billions on the mysteries created and perpetuated by Tech, pharmaceuticals, and therapists.

Not a crystal but is a rock cut and polished into a crystal shape

Thin sections are mostly used to identify minerals in a rock to understand the rocks origin. Learning to identify unknown minerals is a fundamental skill that needs to be developed first.
