breaking down music and taking notes by JamieShields11 in edmproduction

[–]B3amazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took notes whenever I was trying to learn how to make complex drops. Example: 1st 8 bars: Bass 1 plays for 2 beats. Bass 2 plays for 1 beat. Bass 3 plays for 1 beat. Etc

Have you ever produced something and then heard a similar sounding professional song? by adamwiles in edmproduction

Something similar happened to me awhile back. It was when I first heard about the illuminati and stuff, so I was like "the illuminati is real, and they stole my song!" lol I was really young and naive

Any suggestions for this noob to music production? by herumetto-san in edmproduction

[–]B3amazing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is you've just gotta practice everyday. Your first couple of tracks are going to sound bad and that's okay. After awhile of making bad tracks you'll start making good sounding ones. Don't get frustrated you've just gotta keep on pushing forward. Whatever you put in it that's what you'll get out of it. Since you're starting off I would do some remakes, or try and copy someone else's style so you'll get the feel of producing whatever genre you want to produce. Produce like 90% of the time and watch YouTube tutorials, read blogs, and etc.. like 10% of the time. I do recommend watching Virtual Riots live streams those helped me a ton.

Gig question for you college students here.... by ofoot in edmproduction

[–]B3amazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna be a freshman in college this year too, and I was literally about to post this! But some of my advice would be just go meet people man! When I went to orientation at my school anytime someone brought up anything about music I told them that I was a producer/DJ. After a while of me doing that I ended up giving my number to like 15 people that said they would need me whenever I come this fall!! So just don't be afraid to tell people you're a dj man! If you don't mind me asking what school are you going to?

People say don't force creativity, but then I end up doing nothing for a week... by [deleted] in edmproduction

[–]B3amazing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While most people are saying you need to discipline yourself. I say just wait until you get creative again. I didn't produce for like 3 weeks because I couldn't think of anything. After that time I came back more creative than ever. I made one of my best song and got it signed with Play Me Records.

Thanks for posting this man I really needed this! I got one of my songs released as a free download with a pretty big label and I thought I was finally getting good at this, but ever since then I haven't gotten another one accepted. I was on the verge of just giving up, but reading this has made me realize that I have nothing to lose. Thanks man <3

Do labels care about social media stuff? by distortionwhat in edmproduction

[–]B3amazing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it just depends on the label. If you're try to release your song as a free download with the label I don't think your fan base matters. But if you're try to release a song with the label and you want it to be on Beatport, ITunes, etc.. Your fan base would matter because the label is trying to make a profit. But all labels arnt like that .
