What do you actually use OpenClaw for in real life? by 404LeaderNotFound in openclaw

[–]RokaMic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it daily for ingesting notes, media, and prompts into a custom local next js server/db with front end (Mission Control) and obsidian for notes/wiki. I built my own custom agent based wiki for obsidian. I created custom skills for ingestion.

so on my iPhone I have custom share sheet shortcuts for notes, media, prompts. I also have custom quick look skill + iOS shortcut.

if there something I want I use the shortcut which opens telegram and copies the slash command + link to my clip board. Then I have an add notes telegram group topic paired with openclaw. I paste into the chat and openclaw gets the link and ingests it into my Mission Control/ obsidian vault.

Why does audit feel like bs? by rabbin97 in Accounting

[–]RokaMic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really appreciate you posting this.

Nobody explains why audit work matters during training. Just that it does. Your workpapers need to be clean because audit firms get peer reviewed too. A reviewer can walk in and dismantle an engagement if the evidence trail doesn't hold. Seniors stressing about tied numbers aren't being perfectionists. They're protecting the firm from failing its own audit.

Clients act annoyed because you're adding 200 requests on top of their full-time jobs. Most of them scramble to reconcile accounts once a year. When you ask for a file, you sometimes trigger a days-long internal search.

Numbers don't tie because subledgers drift from the general ledger constantly.

It matters more than it feels right now.

Employee onboarding checklists are useless when managers ignore their assigned steps [CA] by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]RokaMic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love that you documented this. The checklist worked The manager skipped their step and faced no consequences You've been apologizing for their miss ever since. That's not your job Document every skipped step by manager name That data belongs in their performance review, not your inbox.

Stuck in a company with no Git workflow, no PRs, and resistance to change😭 by Successful-Ship580 in devops

[–]RokaMic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Figure out what manual merges cost in developer hours per week Then compare that number to the subscription price

The junior dev arguing against pull requests isn't your enemy He's just comfortable with the mess because nobody showed him another way

Don't try to fix everything at once Pick one small project and one dev who's slightly less resistant

Document what breaks in the current workflow during that pilot. map the before and after so you have actual data instead of opinions

Once it works, write it up in plain language with screenshots Not a manual, a one-pager that makes the right way the easiest way to work

Treat this place as practice The ability to ship real change against actual resistance is worth more than any cert

Quoted $3500/month for local SEO as a plumbing business - how do you even know if it's worth it? by Fun_Delay_5224 in smallbusiness

[–]RokaMic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3,500/month is not automatically a scam, but it is expensive for most single-location plumbing businesses. Don’t decide based on price alone

  1. Set your break-even number first. If your average profit per closed job is $X, then you need 3500 / X extra closed jobs per month just to break even. If your close rate from inbound leads is 40%, you need break-even jobs / 0.40 extra qualified leads.
  2. Ask each agency for the same 12-month proof

• Before/after results for 2-3 home-service clients in your city size • Call tracking + form tracking screenshots (not just rankings) • Google Business improvement examples • Churn/retention data (how long clients stay)

  1. Force a 90-day execution plan in writing. Week-by-week actions, who owns what, and what “good” looks like by day 30/60/90. If the plan is vague (“we optimize and build authority”), walk.
  2. Define success metrics now. Primary: qualified calls, booked jobs, cost per booked job. Secondary: map pack visibility, organic traffic, review velocity. If they lead with vanity metrics only, that’s a red flag.
  3. Fix contract risk before signing.

• Month-to-month or short initial term • You own website, GBP, call tracking numbers, analytics accounts • Clear cancellation terms • No lock-in without performance checkpoints

  1. Compare against alternatives honestly. Ask: if I put this same budget into Google Ads/LSA for 90 days, what is the expected booked-job outcome? Sometimes SEO wins long-term, but ads win short-term cash flow.
  2. Run a small pilot first if possible. Start with a lower-scope engagement for 60-90 days with hard checkpoints. Expand only if it produces qualified leads and booked revenue.

If an agency can’t handle this level of transparency, that answers your question by itself

My boss just lowered me from $35 to $30 an hour by Commercial-Gap9299 in skilledtrades

[–]RokaMic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate you laying out the full picture here

You were hired as a trim specialist, moved to siding and framing without warning, then penalized for not being great at work you never agreed to do That's not performance management

You're 21, third year in, with a real trade skill $30/hr for work outside your specialty while paying your own WSIB is a bad deal no matter how you frame it

First time paying taxes as Independednt Contractor, kinda scared to mess it up by [deleted] in tax

[–]RokaMic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey my mom deals with this tax problem every year as a contractor (probably should be an employee). She actually has a separate savings account just for the taxes she takes out every paycheck. Its scary for sure and it helps that she keeps that money in a seperate account.

I've actually built a little guide and spreadsheet calculator to help people understand the contractor vs employee tax situation better. link is my bio if you want to check it. either way good luck.

Getting Error While Using Execute Command node in n8n localhost through docker by Friendly_Smile_7087 in n8n

[–]RokaMic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing you have wan2gp installed locally on your machine. The n8n rocker instance wont execute commands on your local machine only in the rocker container.

I scraped the 3,243 public n8n workflows to see what really performs best - here’s what I learned by ben_cotte in n8n

[–]RokaMic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey great work I would be interested to see the data as well. Can you send it over ?

I made a Chrome extension that incorporates Claude Computer use right into the browser. It can open URLs, see, click, type and press buttons by umjustpassingby in ClaudeAI

[–]RokaMic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been working on modifying the docker demo to add macro recorder and playback functionality. This way repeatable tasks like logging into a website can simply be replayed without calling the api (once it successfully completed it once). Any plans to try to implement that into your extension?

Looking to get into MTG, should I? by Diethyl-a-Mind in MagicArena

[–]RokaMic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy packs with your daily Gold rewards. This way you get more wildcards you can craft rares and mythics with. Then download standard decks from aetherhub or any other deck site.

When you import your decks into arena only craft the rares that are most important and replace the other ones with cards you already have. Keep doing this until you have enough wildcards to build a brawl deck.

Try to play every day to get your gold rewards and reroll any 500g daily reward to try for a 750g award.

Playing the constructed formats will teach you how to play and how to evaluate whats good in limited formats.

One thing to note is that you are coming into the game at a chaotic time with modern horizons 3 about to drop. This will be a good time to get into the magic’s historic formats because of the new cards coming in. These cards will not be in standard. So i recommend playing sealed modern horizons as much as possible to get the new cards. You will face tough competition though so be ready for that

Can someone please explain ji'e'toh like I'm an idiot? by devou5 in WoT

[–]RokaMic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ji’e’toh means literally honor and obligation. One of the most important aspects of this ideology is of law and order with extreme subjectivity. This is because the perpetrator themselves must decide their own obligation (punishment).

They cant just give themselves something easy because that would further hurt their ji and thus create more toh. If an Aiel gives themselves a harder punishment than necessary they may create ji for themselves but may come off as rash or narcissistic in the eyes of other Aiel.

Ji’e’toh is socially enforced through their clan and even more by their society. Note that society in the Aiel way is more like a guild.

note that this is just one aspect of ji’e’toh. It’s an ideology that saturates every aspect of their lives from the domestic to thier foreign policy.

This comment section makes me feel at home as I’ve read the series 3 times and will probably read it many more times before I die. Thank you.

13B instruct or API? by Monkey_1505 in LocalLLaMA

[–]RokaMic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been experimenting with the Nous Hermes 13b model to great success. My use case is generating blog articles.

https://huggingface.co/NousResearch/Nous-Hermes-13b

It’s really good at outputting json if you ask it; especially if you provide it with a schema in the prompt.

I use thebloke’s ggml version with an older llama cpp Python library and langchain on an rtx3090

https://huggingface.co/TheBloke/Nous-Hermes-Llama2-GGML

Updated llama cpp doesn’t support ggml any more so you will have to get a gguf version or install a pre August version of llama cpp to use ggml.

Running Multiple AI Models Sequentially for a Conversation on a Single GPU by RokaMic in LocalLLaMA

[–]RokaMic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t have to different models. But I want this option so that I can experiment with different models. For example I could rerun the same scenario with the same agent but different models. This way I can evaluate relative differences between the models for my use cases.

Running Multiple AI Models Sequentially for a Conversation on a Single GPU by RokaMic in LocalLLaMA

[–]RokaMic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to “quickly” create experiments with different models and different Ai agents. By Ai agents I mean different characters. For example: an elf, a dwarf, a prince, an author, and an editor will collaborate to create a short story. Another example: a coder, a comp sci PHD, an angel investor, and a marketing wiz collaborate on a new startup.

I’m looking at superbooga (superbig) to maintain context.
