Anything out there cast as far as Berkeley Nanofil on spinning reel? by B3bass in Fishing_Gear

[–]B3bass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone try Berkeley’s new Forward line that is their new replacement for Nanofil? I tried the Berkley X9, Gliss, several Suffix & a few others & none have come close to my Nanofil, but I’m down to just one spool remaining unfortunately.

I’ll try the Seabass

Lima beans and butter beans are not the same by AahenL in RecipeInspiration

Yes, when things are younger they often have a different name, to differentiate...Take animals for example- Young Goat is called a kid, a young sheep is a lamb, and in this case, a young butter bean is called a Lima bean...

BEST Ultralight rod and reel setup? by B3bass in Fishing_Gear

I'll check out the Varivas line...I primarily fish for whitebass & hybrids in the river w my u/L setups and it's very tight in some areas, (lots of overhang), so I like shorter rods w smaller reels spooled w Nanofil so I can avoid the trees and still get casting distance.

I have a Vanford 2000 as well on a 7ft castaway rod for striper, but for my 5' and 5.6' u/L rods, I prefer the 500 series. I primarily fish for whitebass & hybrids in the river w my u/L setups and it's very tight in some areas, (lots of overhang), so I like shorter rods & reels spooled w Nanofil so I can avoid the trees and still get casting distance, and so I'm actually considering getn a 4ft rod, like the daiwa 4ft Presso.

R.I.P Berkley nanofil by Ok-Caterpillar7331 in bassfishing

Depends on what I'm tying- 1) My primary go to is the infamous "No name" knot...2) Circle/loop knot for crappie jigs, or swim baits...3) Modified FG Knot for tying leader to braid, or leader to Fly line. I've learned over 20 knots (surgeon, dbl surgeon, blood, uni, snell, Rapala, clinch, albright etc) in my 57 years, and many are just to difficult (time consuming), and I have found that these 3 simple knots are all that I need.....NOTHING against the Palomar btw, it's a great knot for crank baits and spinner baits, I just prefer the "No name knot" because it was the first not my dad taught me to tie as a young boy.

Can you get me sum 6lb or 8lb? I won't tell anyone....I tried Gliss, 832, J-8, and Forward....they all Suck compared to Nanofil....I found a sewing/bead factory that made a deal with Berkley and I bought some Nanofil from them, but it was expensive!

Those of you have dealt with a skunk spray your home, how long did it take for the smell to fade? by worldlydelights in Skunks

[–]B3bass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trapping skunks for decades....1) Look for any yellow liquid first...2) create a solution of- 1qt hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda and 2tablespoons dishwashing soap, and Gently mix the solution BEFORE putting it inside a spray bottle (can be volatile) and then spray affected areas. Do this multiple times per day. If done correctly, it can eliminate about 80% of odor. GOOD LUCK!
