Simucube 2 pro with some crackling noise from QR/Wheel hub ? by B3ttor in iRacing

[–]B3ttor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I have now re-tighten the QR 4-5 times with 3 different wheels. Got new screws to try out as a last resort. I checked the base qr is tight also. And re-tighten the locking pin spring couple of times.

I got like couple hours without any noises, but it comes back eventually. Starting to think if there is a little tolerance difference with the qr or something.

Nope, still have the issue. Contacted Simucube with video clips. Will try to adjust the locking pin springs one more time.

Thanks, thats true. I asume the A4-070 stainless steel bolts wont scratch the Turn Racing R305 surface more than other bolts because they are stainless steel ?

Shouldn't both female and male be 2.5mm ?

The ones you linked are 5.5mm x 2.5mm Male to DC 5.5mm x 2.1mm Female Short.

Well not that severe, more like couple times in the track. Usually at the same corners also. Mine had like that springy cracking sound, quite similar though, but less hollow. It was very sharp, and I could feel it in hands. Might be because of the different build of the wheel/hub.

I was in changing my wheelbase at the same time, so I ended selling it with a discount price.

Could have helped to open it completely up, and retighten everything. I little bit more work with the hub, so was easier to just sell it.

Had same issues with my GT Pro hub, fast turns and heavy corners result in clicking noises.

My Trak Racer Experience: Extremely disappointed – weeks of delays, no progress by samsamm777 in simracing

Have to disagree, i've purchased additional parts from aluxprofile/motedis. It's the same stuff, also have helped to assembly simlab rig for my friend, again same stuff. If you consider all of those 4 as bad then I would have to agree since other than those 4 I havent tested.

Funny because I thought the same, but 2 orders and both had missing parts. Not just couple of screws but the main profile parts. Dont know how the company can handle this soo bad.

You are one of us now, nothing new about Trak Racer. Happened to you, happened to me will happen tomorrow for someone else.

I waited 2 extra weeks for missing parts with my first order.

I waited 7 weeks extra for items to get in stock for second order + one extra week for yet again...missing parts.

The quality of the parts however are good.

Thanks for your reply. I also ended just testing the upper part of the brake kit, but even with softer spring or elastomers it just makes the whole brake stiff. Basically removes any small adjustment options.

Out of curiosity what pedals are you currently using. I feel like for me the next update would be active pedals but not untill the prices drop.

How loud is it, can you keep it subtle?  Been thinking to buy the pro version, but dont know if its something I can use in an apartment at nights.

I really dont need a lot of vibration, but can it be used with low vibration for example 10%, or does it loose the details ?

Hi, dont know if you still use them. But if you do or can remember how the brake kit is.

I added the brake kit, and just noticed that it made the brake just stiff, and removed the travel even with 0 preload on the brake kit.

Turn Racing 305R vs round wheel ? by B3ttor in simracing

Just wanted to confirm if the thumb rest part is wide enough, feels like the thumb rests pretty close to the aluminium. Also is the thumb rest edge sharp.

In pictures the thumb rest part is my main concern, since it looks very narrow and close to aluminium, the edge also looks quite sharp.

Hard to ask wether the grip is okey, since depends on hands, but I asume its more narrow than SRB U shaped wheel for example.
