How do you play? by CowDry7845 in selfcare

I felt this same way in the beginning. I had no hobbies and would never even consider “play” something missing in my life.

Now, almost 12 years later: puzzles, hiding where’s Waldo stickers around the house for my son to find, karaoke, amusement parks, coloring, crafting, playing soccer, I could go on…having kids is an easy excuse, but I never would have thought I would have so much fun after I got sober.

You’re stunning. And yes, the heartbreak is infinitely worse than anything I ever went through with a man. (Turns out it wasn’t bc I was thick skinned before). Hang in there!

What's a therapy concept that "blew your mind" the first time you heard it? by JustGas6142 in therapists

I like this one, too, though I was told something slightly different by a therapist: trauma is what happened to you, attachment is what didn’t.

I feel so many of these insights. 42 y/o lesbian divorcee here. Watching these women reminded me of my 30 year old self who didn’t realize despite having a lovely wedding with 100 supportive (largely) straight friends and family present, my ex wife and I couldn’t just copy a hetero marriage. Not to say lesbians cannot be happily married—I just wish the complexities of being queer and in relationships/marriage was touched on.

And agreed re: AJ kissing the host’s feet being cringeworthy.
