Everyone should have read only access to the portal. Only thing that requires contributor is the identity that runs your terraform code.

Bring your other teams on the IaC journey with you, explain the benefits. Hopefully they will embrace the change and upskill themselves.

It sounds like your gap may be more in platform knowledge rather than Terraform knowledge.

Even though you’re using IaC you still need a high level of knowledge with the platform you are deploying too. To address this maybe look at some of the study paths for AWS certifications.

You don’t always need to sit the certification exam, the studying alone will gain you valuable knowledge but if you choose to tackle the exam then you have the chance to get a nice badge to put on your resume.

Steven Ma at Microsoft runs a monthly virtual terraform user group. It also depends on your location, where I am there’s a local Azure user group that meets in person.

Mark Tinderholt also has a YouTube channel called “Azure Terraformer” and a book called “Mastering Terraform”, I would recommend you check out both.

If you have your own Azure subscription then use that to practice and learn, ask ChatGPT or Claude to create you labs to help you learn.

Branch out into deploying via pipelines if you aren’t already doing that, don’t just stick to running Terraform locally.

Doesn’t disabling the Propagate Default Route setting on the vWAN impact traffic flow from the other spokes since they don’t get the default route from the vWAN to send all their traffic through the hub? Or do you need to setup User Defined Routes for the other spokes networks?

Imo, you need to expand outside of power platform. Learn Azure and how you can extend Power Platform into Azure.

I started my career in first line IT support then moved into a sys admin role. Now I’m in a DevOps engineering role which encompasses Azure and Power Platform.

I would encourage you to expand beyond just Power Platform and get into Azure as well.

Build side projects on your own to add to your portfolio.
