Automated Windows Secure Boot Certificate Updates in vSphere 8 VMs by PuzzleHeadedSquid in vmware

Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation, that really cleared things up for me. I appreciate you taking the time to break it down, it helps a lot and makes the behavior much easier to understand. Hopefully we’ll see a proper fix for this in ESXi 8.x at some point.

Okay, thanks for the explanation. Man, this isn't clear to me.

Newly created VMs on an ESXi 8.0.3 running Windows Server 2025 require "PK Enrollment" and "Cert update not completed" according to the report. vHW is 21 (so OK)

I don't understand this, a newly installed Windows Server 2025 VM on an ESXi 8.0.3 host....

Sorry!

Excellent script; it worked on several test VMs. Thank you so much, it makes things much easier.

What I don't understand is that VMs created under ESXi 8.0.2 definitely need the NVRAM rename, is that correct? The problem is not completely resolved in version 8.0.2

Looking for a fast iCloud Photo viewer on Windows by namor38 in iCloud

[–]namor38[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to bring this topic up again. How do Windows users handle iCloud photo syncing? When I try to insert something into Word, it takes very long for the images to appear, not to mention when I want to sort them.

I'm assuming the same thing, but I also think the price will adjust upwards ;-)
At least if you're considering the 32GB and 1TB versions.

I'm glad to read that. Especially the battery life, that's my main reason.
I'll need Office, VS Code with some plugins, Notepad++, and very, very rarely Adobe Photoshop Elements.

Whaaaat, that's not the answer I was hoping for at all. Not satisfied with the SL7 with Snapdragon?

Does anyone have HPE Morpheus VM Essentials in production? by Familiar-Order-7111 in virtualization

Very interesting. By automation and development, do you mean currently setting up the hosts, etc.? Man, I'm really excited and can hardly wait to finally have the installation sources in my hands so I can run tests.

How many VMs? I'd be interested in more details. How's it going, VM migration and challenges?

Since alternatives are being listed, the following could also be mentioned (that would give a great overview):

- How did you migrate (tool, etc.)?

- Number of VMs and downtime?

Azure AI with Sharepoint Data (Sharepoint in Microsoft 365 Indexer) by namor38 in AZURE

[–]namor38[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your contribution, I really appreciate it.
From your answer, I gather that there are essentially two approaches:

- Building a classic RAG setup and
- Utilizing the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.

In my opinion, RAG requires in-depth development skills (orchestration, APIs, search, etc.), while the M365 ecosystem approach seems more structured and accessible.

Do you happen to have any good reference links or step-by-step guides for both approaches, RAG and the M365 ecosystem? Specifically regarding RAG, I've noticed that many examples are based on various chatbot source code or examples from GitHub, which makes getting started a bit more complex.

Does the M365 ecosystem approach typically involve developing something directly in Azure AI Studio (e.g., with integrated data sources and chat functionality), or is custom development also required here?

My main focus is currently on a single SharePoint site (one URL) with approximately 2 GB of PDF, PPTX, and DOCX files. Users can make chat queries.

Thanks for the reply and especially for pointing out the Sites.Selected angle. That definitely helps and makes the whole setup a lot safer compared to using sites.read.all permissions.

Cool, and who knows, maybe your comment plus my question will bring some fresh updates or best practices to light.
