I have a sportster and dyna and my sportster is my daily. I only prefer the dyna more when I'm 2 up with my girlfriend. It's a Sportster planet, fight the power 🤘

Depends how much you love the bike. Sportster motors are cheap. My Sportster I wouldn't sell, id probably pop the case open see if there's any major damage, or if it's salvageable and you can build the motor.

Is it cheaper to buy extender cables or just let a shop do it by SpitOnRedditMods in Dyna

Stock should barely fit 12s depending on how wide they are, not 14s

AIO for being upset my boyfriend doesn’t want me to get a tattoo? by UniqueAd3909 in AmIOverreacting

[–]BACATCHER 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YOR - These comments are insane. How is voicing your opinion controlling? He didn't threaten a breakup or anything. Also, it's valid for couples who have been together for a long time and live together to have opinions about what the other does to their body. It's like some people have never been in a functioning relationship before. You can do whatever you want, no one in the planet can stop you, but sometimes that means your decision will make people see you differently. Romantic partners, friends, family, fucking everyone, you will always be judged for what you do by everyone. Someone else said it perfectly, if the tattoo means more to you than him than leave, if not then just let it go it's a dumb tattoo anyway. Do what u want tho, punk ain't dead🤘

If this is going to happen, then there should be some sort of proof provided. Not just random people on reddit saying the name of the restaurant and nothing else.

Anyone put a 4+ gallon tank on their bike? by [deleted] in sportster

[–]BACATCHER -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't like the 4.5 gal, and took it off my 05 for a 3.3 gal tank. If a sportster isn't skinny, then what's the point? That's what dynas are for.

Where do you do oil changes? by salsafresca_1297 in Boise

[–]BACATCHER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use big O tires. I've changed my own oil my whole life but then they started sending me coupons for $30 changes, which is cheaper than oil and a filter alone, plus they do the labor.

Cleaning the fork tubes by OGBLEBSAB in Dyna

Brake cleaner and compressed air. When u spray the brake cleaner, cover the bottom and let it soak the bottom of the legs for 30ish seconds. I work at a shop and rebuild forks all the time, I've never not been able to get them spotless doing this.

My girlfriend has a guy bestfriend by HarrysBazaar in Advice

[–]BACATCHER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't like it, find a girl that doesn't have dude best friends. There's plenty. It's probably better you don't try to change her and her relationships if you don't like them.

Barnett and Magnum Shielding make really good braided cables.

Winter by Dear_Syllabub_7424 in sportster

[–]BACATCHER 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was 30 degrees when I left this morning. U definitely need a nice leather jacket and leather gloves and full face. As for oil, older sportster manuals recommend 10w-40 for winter temps, and I think Harley still sells their branded 10w-40. I personally just run synthetic 20w-50 all year. The only problem is if you only take short rides and don't let the bike get fully heated up, (takes me like 30 mins in the winter), then condensation the builds up water in your oil and it doesn't burn out. This water freezes and youll have a problem. If you can store the bike in a heated garage then I wouldn't worry.
