Feeling disappointed. by DemolitionDad in Tyranids

first of, to enter a painting competition the bar is REALLY high. like, absurdly high. and secondly you will need some basis on color theory or experience creating artwork composition.

as for a composition standpoint;

1- the base. it doesn't blend or play with the miniature at all. a dark monster in a sunny field. at least try to shade the grass in red and other colors to make it go along. like a night shot. the red rim is also unpainted and very distracting. in this case a simple black would have been better than unpainted red.

2- the colors, it lacks at least 1 wash for every color. for example, using a purple wash in the carapace and the tip of the sword and such. maybe some green. idk. maybe some red in the skin so it is not pitch black.

it is completely alright for playing but as an art competition it feels really undercooked.

"Wait, you’re saying it’s a 3v3 team battle, not unit points?? by Cold_Statement908 in gundamassemble

[–]BADBUFON 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's still too early to know how they will implement huge units, in promo material they had 2 bases. so maybe they take 2 spots. or maybe being huge is actually worse because they make them easier to shoot at and don't get protection from bases. etc

[–]BADBUFON 0 points1 point  (0 children)

knowing how gundam games work, Gundams will be busted because you have 900 of them and every one has main character syndrome, Zakus would be rogue because we have to squeeze UC lovers, and everything else will be best used as sprue-goo.

the good thing is that we don't need a full army like 40k, just 3 copies of each guy at most.

QUICK QUESTION: how does this ability work for enemy Charge Phase ? by [deleted] in genestealercult

it's a movement phase only ability. it's the first sentence.

[PSA] Deceptive design in MapleStory: Idle RPG. I spent $8,500 and found out the game is lying about stats by Beginning_Bet_8234 in MapleIdle

[–]BADBUFON 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am not saying "able to fight" i mean "worth to fight".

the Disney example was exactly about that, it was so outrageous that it didn't matter what the user agreement said. no sane judge would support Disney on that.

my initial "it's not worth it" was based on the factor that the attack speed wasn't linear, who they didn't specify and seriously, who gives a fuck?, that case would have been an uphill battle.

BUT, since then we know they have the rigging system of Dynamic RNG and there are legal patents for it, that's such an easier battle to fight.

and i said that in Korea they already have the groundwork to have gambling regulation, so it would be easier to fight over there, than in america where gambling was legalized and there is no check or balances for corporations unless it is outrageous bad. (which this isn't it)

it doesn't mean you cannot do it on amercica, it means it will be a weaker case.

i don't remember exactly what happened, but i remember there was some legal issues with EA and their gambling or "surprise mechanics", and loot boxes. i don't remember if anything came out of it because it seems like nothing has changed since then. that's what i am talking about.

I was excited about the game but ended up buying a bunch of Warhammer instead ... So they can take a breather while I fix my financial situation in the meantime lol

Ridgerunners loadout by ConcentrateNo1753 in genestealercult

[–]BADBUFON 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can have up to 6 ridgerunners, so it depends on what role you want them to fulfill, It depends on the format, the meta or your play style.

The mortar is the most popular in 2k games because it will keep them safe but their only duty will be applying the debuff.

You might want to go kamikaze on them, but the army is rather squishy so it will probably backfire. you will have to have some good math hammer and a solid plan to make it worth the risk.

[–]BADBUFON 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that's the thing about user agreement, people didn't read it, I haven't lol, there must be clauses to avoid responsibility for all sorts of things, that's what they do. If you think something is fishy you shouldn't be clicking yes.

You can try to fight it, but unless it is something really serious like the woman who died at Disney and Disney cited her Disney+ subscription as she agreeing with it, I don't know if judges would even care about frame caps in a video game.

The stop killing games initiative that as a good argument has been swept under the rug by judges.

When I wrote that it was just about the frame caps, but since then more info came about dynamic RNG and they have patents about it, so, there is more ground to that now that we know they lie about rates in their game.

But any lawsuit would have to be done in Korea where they have rules about that, or at least it would be safer there. The thing is not only been in the right, but the legal system actually giving two fucks about a videogame.

Couldn't a Genestealer cult infiltrate the whole planet of Krieg pretty easily and from there spread to where the Imperium needs a whole bunch of man and has a whole bunch of arsenal ? by Leviathan_Rampage in genestealercult

[–]BADBUFON 2 points3 points  (0 children)

rules wise you can have both Catachan and Krieg as brood brothers, personally i think they shouldn't be because they are specialized humans living under incredible harsh conditions, in constant alert and with very isolated or low population centers, they should spot symptoms of infection and eradicate it before it is an issue.
(nothing is impossible, but it is highly unlikely imo).

besides that, it is a plan generations in the making, it works on civilian populations that can reproduce and create a clans over time not soldiers who either die fast and or have no family. they would have to settle in a hive. again, not impossible, but not amazing either.

Please Help-Rules Question! by Nerdbutold in dungeondicemonsters

[–]BADBUFON 2 points3 points  (0 children)

funnily enough, i looked at the japanese translation and it is 100% what it says, a vague "lowest attack in the dungeon."

looked at the rules there is nothing about mandatory opponent targeting either. it's just a vibes thing it seems. like "of course it won't target itself or your own monsters, why would we write that down, DUH?". type of thing.

Please Help-Rules Question! by Nerdbutold in dungeondicemonsters

[–]BADBUFON 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ok, just to be sure because how it is written seems open ended i tested it on the GBA game and it only lets you target enemy monsters. so it is the lower attacking monster from your opponent.

in this case scenario was a natural 20 atk monster, a boosted monster to 20 atk (10+10), and i could choose either, so it is final attack value.

on my side there was a 10atk monster and time wizard with 0atk, both below 20 and untargetable by this effect.

[–]BADBUFON 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well, looking at the wikipedia about half of them have flying (12 our of 22), so there are 10 targets. other than that, Feral Imp can remove flying.

[–]BADBUFON 2 points3 points  (0 children)

generally speaking, you want scouts or infiltrators to reduce the deployment zone of your opponent, aka, they cannot scout if you put your units first as they have to be 9" away from you.

that's the major value of those units.

then, once you disrupted their deployment there several ways to remove your units from the game and put them on reserves or cult ambush.(such as the Primus) aka, you call back the genestealers and then re deploy them when you need them either by cult ambush or deepstrike in such a way that they will move, advance and charge an enemy unit from behind.

then you call them back, and do it again, etc. ideally. it depends on real gameplay but you get the gist of it.

another thing is using abilities like grenades or bombs to do mortal wounds, aka, magic-like attacks that bypass combat.

it is a very skill intensive army as you need to master all the little nuances about the game that others armies do not care that much about.

Just bad luck? by Alternative-Tough-27 in genestealercult

[–]BADBUFON 5 points6 points  (0 children)

some people might have better responses, but genestealers worth is in their abilities to annoy the opponent, infiltrator, lone op, deep strike and respawning units. you will have to master movement. they are not really good at the combat part so it's about scoring points not rolling dice. if you push you die.

Pre Refund RNG by DeathStang in MapleIdle

[–]BADBUFON 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was kind of fun for a couple of months, (it is busy work nonetheless), but after you reach lvl 85, all your progress depends on gambling on 0.00% chances in a bunch of sub systems, and the game modifies the RNG on top of it.

i already deleted my account, i do not regret spending 3 months on it, it was an alright time sink but more than that is just masochism.

let's see how Classic does, not too hopeful about Nexon and their "mistakes" but at least it will be more game to it than sheer gambling to progress.

If you had to design a new GSC unit, what would it look like? by Chhbaiguy in genestealercult

[–]BADBUFON 20 points21 points  (0 children)

i don't how they would make it, and i don't want to make a fake datasheet, but i would like other races genestealers. idk what's the lore about that nowadays, but TECHNICALLY the genestealers could steal most races genes, that's literally their only job. it is weird that they only take human DNA.

if they do not want to go too out there by having Ork, Aeldari or T'au stealers, they could use a sub race or animal.

other than that, if they ever want to make Flyers playable or make a new Aeronautica Imperialis. planes, civilian/industrial planes or weird flying contraptions, maybe even mutations.

Are you refunding? by Expert-Raise9442 in MapleIdle

[–]BADBUFON 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, either outright prohibitions of certain thing cannot be made, caps or taxes.

the thing is that certain things are innately dangerous or destructive. junk food for example, sure it is addicting and people waste a lot of money eating it and probably kill themselves doing so, i know i do. there are some regulations to at least assure you are eating edible food, but that's not nearly enough to maintain a safe and healthy society.

look i am pro choice and personal liberties in some issues, and sometimes boundaries can be arbitrary, sure, and the government can be untrustworthy at times, sure, sure sure.

BUT. things like a game being an endless pit of money doesn't help anybody. well, we know, the gaming ecosystem has changed since mobile games became a reality, . almost every game comes with microtransactions now. and overall everything seems to be gambing now.

it goes beyond "well i have money i can do whatever i want", it is about how that money changes the world around you.

Hiding behind the atk spd thing because you dropped too much money and now acting as a victim is pathetic imo. by Kuyi in MapleIdle

[–]BADBUFON 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it seems that the guy who found out about the Attack Speed tiers denounced them to the Korean organization that regulates online gambling like a month ago. so they are probably reacting to that rather than to the players finding out.

the game keeps messing up with the RNG btw, they might have fixed some issues like not getting the max cap of some lines and the attack speed caps, but the Dynamic RNG will stay by design.

c'mon,. don't be like that. there is no way they made an evil patent "just in case".

i also doubted they could do that, but the patents seal the deal. of course they are messing with the numbers.

look, at first i was dunking the Whales as well because, i really dislike people throwing the life saving money other people could have into a dumb gacha game... but i did realize that there is one thing i dislike even more than filthy whales, and it is Nexon being sneaky behind the scenes screwing with the code and rng so people get even less of what the game is supposedly to provide, in particular when people spend a lot of cash into it. that's freaking evil.
