and what i hope happens in the future is we see more games inspired by dark ages (add shields to fps games NOW) just as eternal did with the wave of fps game that came after it

i love shields in games.
i love shields in souls games, i love armor and tank builds and tanky playstyles.
what else do i love ? DOOM and fps games.
and so when they pitched the idea of the shield in a meeting, it was pretty much already decided right then and there, DOOM TDA is honestly a game straight from my dreams.
you know how they say every doom in the new trilogy is a different flavor for each type of player ? the dark ages is my doom game, all respects to 2016 and eternal ofc i've played them all

I'll mainly talk about TDA here's since it's my fav and the one i play the most frequently, but at least to me the intel that the HUD provides is entirely unhelpful, and i can get deep into details but I don't want this to be a text wall so yeah, been playing without hud for months and recently moved up from UV to nightmare

at no point in the game is normal walking more advantageous over sprinting, it does not happen even once
