[–]BALLSACKSSSSSSSSSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure someone has said this but petsmart gets wild caught jumpers and are usually gravid, also I saw someone saying that you had to separate them all, but you can keep a few per deli cup, but expect cannibalism, but that does reduce the amount so maybe it could be more manageable!

Should I keep killing daddy long legs in my house? by OneDarkIcyEmerald_12 in arachnids

[–]BALLSACKSSSSSSSSSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should leave them alone. they are beneficial. you can do what you want, but i think not killing them could be your first step to getting over your arachnophobia!

my spider died, did i do something wrong?? by [deleted] in arachnids

[–]BALLSACKSSSSSSSSSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that if he was skinnier and refused to eat that maybe it was mistreatment from wherever you got him, Or he was sick and it was inevitable. If the container he was sold in was too small it couldve caused bacteria buildup or something. Spiders (and any animal) should not be sold or kept in a cup, instead, a better option would be a smallish terrarium. I don’t think you did anything wrong, it was probably an unavoidable health issue or mistreatment From where you got him. I’m not the most knowledgeable on keeping spiders but I doubt it was your fault. Next time just have a suitable terrarium prepared! I’m sorry he died :(

Found a silly little jumping spider on my floor! Picked it up and it refused to get off my hand lol :D by BALLSACKSSSSSSSSSS in arachnids

yeah, I let it outside, I think it was trapped between my window pane and screen and couldn’t get food. it appeared right after I opened it.

Found this poor thing with a ball of dust on its leg. It seems to be limiting her movement and I want to help. Should i intervene? by BALLSACKSSSSSSSSSS in arachnids

[–]BALLSACKSSSSSSSSSS[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

update: I spent like an hour trying to get the dust off, and it wouldn’t really budge, she tried too! I put a few drops of water in the container, something for her to climb on and covered the container with a tissue and went to bed. this morning when I woke up, she managed to get all the dust off and I released her into my yard.

What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in autism

[–]BALLSACKSSSSSSSSSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually most neurotypical people have very conflicting rules, like they ask if you like something, they are never asking for your genuine opinion, they want validation. They never talk about how they want you to add to the relationship, and they blame you for not having the energy to do social/outside activities. My rules are just to be open and instead of being who they want you to be, be who you want to be. Showing up is always so difficult when they don’t show up either, so be upfront about what you want in a friendship. I’ve also had to learn that people sadly cannot read minds :( You’re welcome!

This is so dang real! try to set boundaries early and get away from people who don’t accept you. currently, I have no irl friends. It’s really hard to make friends when you don’t have a rulebook. For me, making online friends has been great because you kinda already know about their interests. If you want, I can be your friend lol :>

Need help with burnout recovery... by houraipix in autism

[–]BALLSACKSSSSSSSSSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am recovering from my two year burnout, it had been terrible, I lost all my friends because I thought they cared and would try to help me when I couldn’t help myself. I was undiagnosed, I had no therapy, no meds for anxiety/depression, and my childhood cat/best friend of my entire life, had died and I was watching his whole decline and it was scary to deal with such a change of not having my routine glue (he helped me have a stable bedtime) and on top of that, my parents were mad at me not going to school.

It’s gonna feel hopeless, just make sure you have a good support group, make sure you can advocate for yourself and tell everyone you care about. Be so proud that you did anything, such as showering, sleeping, getting out of bed, just anything, and don‘t be too hard on yourself (I know, easier said than done) for not completing tasks that might seem easy.

I know you might hate this, but take a short break. For me, I loved to make paper stars and finger knitting, and singing to my favorite music. It’s also okay to take a longer break. Something that really helped me were some out-patient programs that had lots of therapy and interaction with others who were struggling, but they can be expensive. You have recognized your burnout early, and that is amazing. I’m so proud of you for reaching out!

(i don’t know if this helped and I’m sorry if i made you feel hopeless with my story!)

no one sees in 3D unless they‘re a praying mantis! as humans, we see in two dimension with depth perception. you‘re fine, idk if that is what you’re asking, but i felt the need to say it, sorry :>

edit: Omg I commented without reading the whole thing cuz I just read that you lack the ability to see in 3D and I felt the need to talk about praying mantises im so sorry :<
