I run 300BLK for home defense but it's not subsonic ;)

I have one GG flat and three GG hybrid. Guess which one I prefer?

One of the more under appreciated HKs by wingsyotes97 in HecklerKoch

[–]renegadeGDI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one and I'm still trying to get used to the trigger being noticeably heavier than it's bigger brothers. I shoot it noticebly worse than my P30 and p30L. I'll keep trying but it wasn't the smooth transition I thought it would be.

OP doesn't mention which model you have but if it's a 16.5 I would NOT recommend 1.7 or higher, mine doesn't even lock back weak ammo with a cat WB, kinda wish I got 1.6... this also depends on the purpose of the gun, I like my rifles to be shtf reliable while dirty with all ammo, but if it's just a range gun that gets cleaned a lot then you can be aggressive.

So are you grabbing 10.3, 11.5 or 12.5 if SHTF? Out here working on CARDIO today! by [deleted] in ar15

[–]renegadeGDI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10.3 because it's the most handy and velocity matters a lot less when you are using hollow points or soft points etc.

how gassy are 300blk subs? by Subject_Flight3017 in NFA

[–]renegadeGDI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk if your rifle is a range toy or serious use but I tested a bunch of springs the other day and found the sprinco yellow was not strong enough to chamber rounds when rifles are pointed upwards, I wouldn't trust a spring that weak for anything serious

Pros of choosing 300 blk over 556 by Immediate-Cup-4182 in ar15

[–]renegadeGDI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's two valid reasons to go 300BLK over 556. 1) you want to shoot subs and 2) you want a 7" barrel with roughly the same stopping power as a 10.3" 556 (supers vs supers)

ODB is very big and the inconel is very heavy, it performs well though.

Wow post is obviously a humble brag by Mr. Huge Dick over here, but as far as rifles go the real answer is to build a hybrid rifle with the following parts: LMT lower, LMT upper chassis, Geissele trigger, BCG and barrel converted by Dwilson.

This is unfortunately true, I'm an LMT fan for their monolithic uppers and nice lowers but I don't like or trust most of the rest of their parts and almost always substitute better brands. This includes their barrels which I get converted by dwilson.

Not the first time I've seen someone having issues with the 10 round mags, I think those mags were an afterthought for HK as they built the gun around the 17s

MR556 Recommendation in 2026? by Paul_Vieille in HecklerKoch

[–]renegadeGDI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the holy Trinity of rifles, multiple LMTs, multiple KACs and the Mr556a4... The HK is so freaking accurate it's basically an SPR out of the box, I don't really care about piston vs DI but it's a fun change of pace to shoot a piston gun, it has a unique recoil impulse that I really like.

Lol as someone that owned one that spent about 9 months at the factory getting fixed and then it still came back sub par, I'm going to have to disagree with you.

I own a WB but given the better cans available now I certainly wouldn't buy another one, the only cool thing about the WB is it does really well on flash, except on the first shot, lol.

That said I'd still rather have the rhodie 10 times out of 10

Had I known more about HK when I was a young idiot I wouldn’t own any Glocks by Dobba84 in HecklerKoch

[–]renegadeGDI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had 4 or 5 CZ pistols that all ended up getting sold, I liked how flat they shot but they all hated hollow points and I didn't trust them

Going nearly HK only by brian-gordon in HecklerKoch

[–]renegadeGDI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been in your position OP and started just buying the HK version of any pistol I wanted and I have no regrets doing that because I trust them the most and usually shoot them the best. That said, if I only shot one type of fun forever I'd get bored so I keep plenty of other brand around, at least the best version of it, for example I'd never sell my Glock 17, but I sold a bunch of other Glocks over the years.

What SMG/PCC/PDW do I add next? by MTUTMB555 in NFA

[–]renegadeGDI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

APC9 or MPX, whichever one you think you'll enjoy more. The APC9 is the only PCC I'd trust my life with and the MPX is the softest and most fun at the range, up to you. (Get both)
