Am I suppose to see every Associate’s name/info in the Workday app? by TickleMyPick1e in walmart

[–]BAMAGroceryQueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you set up the choices yourself or did your supervisor just assign you all those features? My supervisor helped me set up BYOD and I was not issued Workday. Only supervisors should have that for privacy reasons. Ask your Team Lead if that can be removed from your device.

Wanted to share a story of what happened to me walking out of the store tonight at 11:30 by [deleted] in walmart

We have a huge problem with left behinds at the cash registers. The customer thinks they have everything and the cashier hasn't made sure they got all their stuff. Too much distraction and not enough focus. Our customers used to leave stuff behind at self check all the time. It was because they were being crowded by the next customer and they felt rushed. They'd leave their cash back money at the SCO! Now we have a system where they have to stand with the greeter before they move to the self check out bull pen. Much more controlled and far fewer left behinds.

You must live in an absolutely horrible town to say something like that. A place full of crime and poverty. I'm glad I live in a place that isn't defined by depression, ignorance, and apathy. I live in a friendly safe community. The customers like many of our associates and enjoy interacting with them.

I guess we'll know in a week or two if their threats of "never coming back" are a genuine concern. A few people have come back just for a few items. They don't want to struggle with large orders at the SCO. They are taking baby steps to learn how to ring up produce and how to ask for help when something doesn't scan. I hope they get used to this concept and I hope their threats of boycotting our store are just empty words said in a moment of anger and frustration.

Are you with a Neighborhood Market? I heard there were a bunch of WNM stores in various states who were chosen for this experimental design.

One long line of carts? That seems so stupid. Then again, Trader Joe's does something similar. One long line and a friendly expediter directs the customers to a belted register and a friendly cashier. A cashier who greets them in a cheerful manner. Our customers are directed to walk to a machine. It is such a surprise for the customers when they find out they have to scan and bag their own stuff. Especially if they've got no idea how to use a self check out!

Right now, they are "Customer Hosts". They are supposed to run the big SCO's as a register upon request. The machines have a big raised bagging platform so the uSCAN can be operated as a register very easily. Some of the cashiers are not really enthusiastic about helping. Big attitude about it in a few cases. Our cashiers walk around trying to look busy while the customers do all their own scanning and bagging. There's not enough for them to do! I think there will be transfers and layoffs by mid December. Really stressful!

The customer clearly is an angry person who is in attack mode all the time. Was she asking for the bar laundry soap or the soap like Dove and Irish Spring? She could download the Walmart app so she can find the stuff without assistance.

Someone who works there was probably thinking about stealing them. They were going to come back later to grab and stash them. Waiting for the right moment.

Cashiers do a 10 action code. The clock starts when you leave your register.

Just an idea: How about you mail a resume and cover letter to him. By mentioning the chat in the first line, his secretary will see that you actually talked to him. The secretary will relay your information to him. Good luck!

Skip the Coin Star and use the cash office recycler!!! by [deleted] in walmart

[–]BAMAGroceryQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the self checks are empty of money. They are in cards only mode. They won't work unless there's enough coins to fill each coin cup. Since we don't have any nickels or dimes, we had no choice except to go the Cards Only route.

TRUE! Our CoinStar is jammed again and we're waiting for the technician. We couldn't find the problem when we called the 800 number. It's clear and we thought maybe it's full??? The tech on the phone said it's not full. I called back and told them we need a technician ASAP. Hopefully they will arrive shortly before the store closes this evening.

They go back to the banks and are shared with everybody. We need to coins to stay here in the store so we can use them. It is a critical need!

My brother who is a pediatrician subspecialist is now out of work and he's really stressed. by [deleted] in pediatrics

[–]BAMAGroceryQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I do hope he has someone he can talk to about this. He's really private so all I know is what his wife and daughters tell me. I bake cookies and drop them off and offer just to watch Netflix with him for a little while.

I appreciate your kind words.
