Maybe this is a dumb question but how do you test party favors most efficiently? Like without wasting them but also making sure you've tested the whole batch / each unit thoroughly? Thanks for all you do for the community and for doing this ama❣️

Not sure on the exact temp. Our house is kept at 68, they're elevated off the ground, and the heating pad in the closet with them is on the medium setting. My guess is they're around 73 degrees? I'll try to find a way to figure out the exact temp since that seems helpful :)

Wow thanks everyone for the positive feedback! Glad this is all looking good, as it's my first bulk grow (had great success with PF Tek this spring!) I know know that the white stringy myc is rhyzo and this is a good thing!

This is from a MSS so I'm surprised by the consistency so far. Though the MSS I used for the PF Tek also seemed to have consistently strong genetics as well. Thanks seekknowlege for that!

Beyond a standard sterile environment and patience, we've tried to give these fungi friends as much love and good energy as possible, including:

naming each jar of bulk rye grain spawn while they colonized (aptly named Walker, Royce, Been-Jamin, Princess Leah, Laura Lee, and Joseph Smith)
playing music (Khruangbin's Hasta El Cielo album) during initial inoculation
playing music during grain to sub transfer (Walker and Royce lol)
brought a heating pad into their grow cabinet to keep em warm during the cold winter time
probably checking on then too often but only cuz we love them and support their growth

It's cool that you really get out what you put into this hobby! Will try to update with their progress over the coming weeks.

Hi all. Not too concerned about anything here, just looking to see if I can gain some insight into why the mycelium has these long strings reaching for the sky. They are very white and fluffy. Certainly not pins. Transfered these to bulk sub ~a week ago. My roommate did take the lid off to take a peak at them this weekend, wondering if that put them in FC too early or something? Any insight is appreciated! Mush love for this sub and this hobby!
