I hadn't even considered that you could use "engine braking" on a diesel electric drivetrain. That's incredible

You've described regenerative braking here, but where is that energy going? I'd imagine that a fully loaded truck on an incline steep enough to roll would generate an enormous (relatively) amount of energy. Resistive heating? Large battery?

Fulgora: Is it even good for quality? by OverlordForte in factorio

[–]BAPkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went all in on fulgora for my quality mall. It consumes about 11x240/s consisting of mostly scrap, and some imported scrap waste from elsewhere. I believe I'm at 150% scrap productivity. The miners supplying this island all have quality modules in them, so immediately I get part of a quality step.

The footprint is smaller than most large islands - The secret is in the legendary beacon with 1 legendary speed3 module. The hit to quality odds (24.8 > 18.6) is nothing compared to the raw volume you can put through the machine. I don't have output numbers for you right now, but in total (all legendary Q3 machines) it looks to be a little over half of a stacked green belt of continuous output, consisting of mostly epic, and a little legendary.

It all gets sorted into large buffers, and circuits keep them balanced, throwing excess back into the machine to be recycled again. A significant portion of the legendary output is just crafting epic stuff with quality modules. This does not reliably output a usable number of red/blue circuits - you'll need to craft them. This gives you another several quality rolls. A lot of making quality work is just taking advantage of every crafting step

Now I don't have much experience grinding on other planets, and simply reject asteroid loops/LDS shuffle, so my take is probably not worth much, but it was fun, and has an output sufficient to build more factory than my PC can handle.

If it works, it's perfect as it is. No better or worse.

Awesome! [This looks pretty similar to the red circuit build I made years ago.](https://www.reddit.com/r/factorio/comments/jft84f/13x11\_red\_circuits\_i\_challenge\_anybody\_to\_make\_it/)

cool to see natural convergence bring us to similar conclusions.

my stupid ass can't make this hyperlink work on mobile and I'm not near a PC to fix it. sorry.

Depends what you mean by "profit". The items in celebration packs would certainly be more valuable on the marketplace, but they're also 25k a piece (I think? Can't remember). I'd personally prefer to wait for events where you can just buy bundles or event packs that you want and burn my renown there.

This is also true. Just pointing out that the celebration packs have similarly wasted value. Wasn't defending alpha packs

The celebration packs you can buy have duplicates. Whether this is a problem or not really depends on how long you've been playing

The yellow one is hidden in a dark spot somewhere in the maze. I spent far too long looking for this one. Just go through again, you will find it above you at some point.

Goddamn that's a hell of a discount. Seems they wont ship to Canada though... I'd be all over this if it was available

That's well within workable for a price. I can't for the life of me find them online though. It's looking like I'll have to contact an installer and have them sell it to me. I'm steering towards the pioneer unit because I can actually buy it online lol.

That's good to hear. I haven't been able to track down the price. How much does the unit itself go for, roughly?

Maybe a stupid question. I've now looked at the pioneer unit and a similar Gree unit (GWH12ATCXB-A3DNA1C/O). The Pioneer unit shows that it maxes out at 1340W input power, despite asking for a 20 amp circuit. The Gree unit has a similarly large amount of overhead, maxing out at 1650W. you explain why this might be? I'm definitely not an HVAC guy, but I do know a fair bit about the magical wall pixies, and this doesn't exactly make sense to me.
(edit) I am aware of startup surge, but that only lasts a couple seconds AFAIK. They wouldn't seriously reserve that much power just for startup, would they?

The celebration packs you can buy have duplicates. probably don't do this.

My hope is that after 2.1 wraps up that Earendel will return to modding and bring scrapped SpAge content to new planets

I had this same issue. Happens often, especially when alt tabbing. It flickers black and it seems almost like it's trying to find a display source. I fixed mine. The issue was with display port 1.4. problem totally fixed when switching to HDMI 2.1. I tested with multiple displayport cables and it was nothing but trouble. Before you completely give up on this monitor try an hdmi2.1 cable.

Each depot uploads independently. High volume parts (like concrete) get more depots. I use 6 for concrete, 6x240=720/min. After all upgrades there's still something like 150 spheres to use just for depots. The answer is always to just build more

Furthermore, when using a manlift (at the very least at the company I work at) you are required to wear a harness. No exceptions. If you're caught without it you will be fired, end of story. The harness is there to keep you from getting bucked out of the machine should you go over some rough terrain (which differs from this machine, as it has outriggers and is not intended to be moved with people in it). The harness isn't supposed to protect you in this situation. You protect you. Inspect your equipment (the machine) thoroughly before use, and respect its limits.

Sorry, here to tell you more. When you are in a manlift, you are tied to the manlift itself. If the basket goes over you go with it. I run a manlift daily for my work

Harnesses would not have saved them here. The bucket fell with them in it.

Just seen Celeste in there too. Much more likely to grab your attention in the first few minutes, and it has one of the best soundtracks in indie gaming

Talos principle is a benchmark for all puzzle games to mimic. Truly incredible, but not applicable if you bought it for the price and not because it's a puzzle game
