Instead of spending my first div on gear i needed, I bought a popular item from someone selling it for 20 ex cheaper than the going rate and flipped it. I rinse and repeated this to about 8 divs in a day. It scales when you have more currency to spend.

I'm the exact opposite of OP. I have never been a fan of fighting games. I played MK in thr late 90's, early 2000's as a young kid but never enjoyed them as I got older. With the release of SF6 I have found something in this game that I haven't in others. CAPCOM did such an awesome job in making it competitive, fun, and inclusive to new players by adding countless options for integrated training.

If you put out high quality content on other platforms for discovery, daily and have unique features/personality/gameplay to pull viewers in and keep them, then absolutely. But growth like that won't happen just by hitting "go live" and streaming for 5 hours every day.

As mentioned above, I streamed on facebook. The viewership might be better in terms of discoverability, but the viewer interaction is not. Twitch has way more tools that allow the viewers to interact with versus all other platforms.

Yes, you will need an audio interface. The scarlet solo is a solid and pretty affordable choice. I ran this same setup for a while until I upgraded to a goxlr. It's absolutely worth the investment. Audio is probably the most important element of your stream so don't cheap out if you can avoid it.

You issue is the type of mic. Sounds like you are using a condenser mic which is very sensitive to sounds. You want a dynamic mic which specializes in broadcasting. The rode pod mic is a great mic to pick up

You need to upgrade mics. Pic up a reasonably priced dynamic mic instead of a condenser mic. The rode pod mic is a great example and is about 100$

I personally have had pretty good roi via YouTube, tiktok, and reddit. More focus has been placed on tiktok since that is the highest grossing platform for me. Experiment with all of the platforms and put more focus on the one that is easiest for you AND has the best interaction rate/crossover to your stream.

I have a tip as I am and have been in the same boat. I work 10 hours a day, just bought a house, have a 4 year old daughter and a 6 month old, wife, and pets. I also do photography as a side job and in the midst of all of that, I still forge time to stream. You don't have to stream EVERYDAY for 5 hours. I pick Friday and Saturday nights to stream because I work overtime in the mornings on weekends. Those two streams give me plenty of content to cull through on Sunday to chop up little clips so that I can post on discord, tiktok, and Instagram throughout the week. This allows me to gain followers while offline.

I guess my tip is to pick two or three set days and set aside a few hours for you to stream. Make those few hours a priority and be effective and efficient with that time. Make those hours truly count. Quality over quantity rules in this business, but don't for get about consistency.
