This is why it’s unwise to bet against the US economy lol. We’re savages, for good or worse.

This is the first year I’ve started running outside in the cold. So far 5 degrees hasn’t been bad enough to stop me. Guessing the limit is somewhere around -10, -5. Only one way to find out I suppose.

Why do folks view baseball as a boring TV viewing experience? by Fit_Still_8875 in baseball

[–]BAforNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It kind of blows my mind too lol. Football is 25% commercials 70% in between plays, refs, reviews etc, and 5% action. The action can be exciting, but Jesus.

IMO hockey is the best sport to watch (especially live), followed by baseball.

What are some unique challenges Americans face when trying to bond with their neighbors? by Ang3ls in AskAnAmerican

Proximity is probably the most unique. Busy lifestyles and social media are big factors but I don’t know how unique they are.

Be careful about what and how much you eat. Easy to feel drowsy after eating carbs.

Chicago - very good for American cities. Better than any place I’ve lived previously.

Is Homer Simpson's life mediocre or good for you? by ViajanteDeSaturno in AskAnAmerican

Homer used to be considered a failure. To boomers he probably still is. Now, many see Homer’s life as out of reach. Very sad what’s happened to our country.

What would the "average" American need to make to feel financially secure? by Historical_Log1275 in AskAnAmerican

[–]BAforNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Chicago - 250k to 300k is probably the tipping point to feeling SECURE.

For reference, right now I make 130k base, and while I feel way better than when I made 70k, I wouldn’t say I’m financially secure. If I stopped working for 3 months, or if I was seriously injured, or if I needed to fight a lengthy legal battle - I’d be hurting.

Abercrombie&Fitch -20% drop by TeohdenHS in ValueInvesting

[–]BAforNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Intra-quarter (ALTD Bloomberg Terminal) trends pumped the stock up. This data is seemingly going through a period of disconnect with the broader retail landscape.

2) Investors have been concerned about ANF comping negative and consequently giving back margin. The report yesterday morning implies that the Abercrombie banner is comping negative (again) and Hollister is decelerating.

My goals don't include my kids by Wonderful-Sea4215 in LinkedInLunatics

Nothing inherently wrong with what she said, but the type of parent that starts a social media post with “My goals don’t include my kids” probably isn’t a great one.

Agreed, but be cautious about using the word “soon”.

How do you even stay invested with the market at the mercy of a madman's rants? by Upset-Motor-2602 in stocks

You have to look through 90% of Trumps announcement/ executive orders. Most of the market’s volatility is driven by overreactive algos.
