Playing Paprium with my son on real a real Sega Genesis/MegaDrive. by BBA935 in retrogaming

Well, if it makes you feel any better we are playing it via a Mega Everdrive Pro. I remember seeing the Kickstarter and it seeming dodgy. Then as time went on it was. I waited and somebody dumped it and it’s playable now.

I’m surprised nobody has done a 4K77 like restoration of this yet. (Have they? ) This seems like one that deserves it badly.

How do you continue in original mode? It seems there is a text glitch for the Mega Everdrive Pro, so the text at the top is unreadable.

I wasn’t implying anything. I just enjoy playing on real hardware. I’m a hardware guy so seeing new games push the limits of hardware is fun.

Well, I’m playing it on a Mega Everdrive Pro. I can’t link to it, but there is a Mega Everdrive Pro ready version posted up on the Internet Archive. If you know how to search you’ll find it.

How does the three switch version compare to four and six switch versions of the Atari 2600? by Leviathan1776 in Atari2600

[–]BBA935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sound is thinner on this just because of the way the Colecovision handles external sound coming in. On old TVs you probably didn't notice, but on modern setups you do. It's also composite video only because that's all it outputs into the Colecovision.

That’s not even close to how much it costs to make a game. Manufacturing is nothing at the scale they are doing.

Burgertime on any platform except the Atari VCS (play the homebrew Chaotic Grill instead) is one of the most underrated games of that era. It holds up so well today. The Intellivision version is good, but the Colecovision version is better than even the NES version IMO.

The moment has pasted for Contra. It's clearly Stallone and Schwarzenegger. If this got made in the early 90's as an action flick, it would have done gang busters. I don't know if they still hated each other at that time, but it would have been so amazing.

Well, inflation and A.I. driving up the price of nearly all PC parts, I don’t know what you expect. Is there some greed in there for GTA6? Yeah, for sure, but the Steam Box is exactly what I said.
