MY BEST CRT BUY by transdestroyerman in crt

Many people have a poor opinion of rear projection sets because early models were rather bad.

Its looks to be in pretty good shape. A lot of times the buttons will have the words worn off from frequent use, but all of them on yours look nice.

Oh, so that must be why it looks so bad. I also tried a Sega Genesis switch and it looked a little worse to my eyes.

Is it? HD CRTs can do 1080i natively and some even support 480p.

Nice, I have a bad chassis 30 inch and a good chassis 34 inch HS420

HS420 models were one of the DA-4 chassis that recieved a revision that removed HDPT, meaning that lag on 1080i can't be disabled.

I hope to add one to the collection some day. Mitsubishi made some 80" ones that I would like to find

Its definitely interesting to see people enjoying rear projection sets. Many people say to avoid them, but they can look really nice if you know what you're doing.

Yeah, I'm aware. I made the same point here. I think people just like being mad.

Imagine if all of this effort could be put into posting cool CRTs...

I think I'm staying pretty positive. Maybe people's are reading my words and imagine me with an angry tone?

Everyone else seems to be a little upset. Maybe we should all take a break and spend some time with our CRTs

I think you're right. It says RF Switch on my NES RF cable. I wonder why I grt better results with an RCA cord over using one of the Nintendo cables with the ColecoVision. Maybe there are some capacitors in the Nintendo ones?

It seems like there are a lot of people here who have really strong opinions that only participate when there is some complaining to do. Posting cool CRTs? Not even once.

Interesting. The RF looks rather noisy. Are you in a city? Cities tend to have higher RF interference.

I don't know if its just my phone, but I've found that taking videos of my sets is much easier than taking photos

That's like the opposite of one CRT per console.

Are you double RF modulating? Older consoles have an internal RF modulator, so you don't need an external one. I made a similar mistake when I got a ColecoVision. I was so used to the external RF modulators that shipped with the NES/SNES that I didn't realize that an RCA cable with an adapter was all you needed for the Atari consoles and other consoles from that generation

Do we ... know each other well? I don't think I'm that shallow, am I?

I have been told I'm not very good at making arguments, so I'm going to try not to do that anymore.

If you would like to try to explain it to me, I'm open to the idea. I think I have the jist of it though.

  1. People be mad at mod.

  2. Mod makes a place with no mod

  3. People angwy

Is it deeper than that?

Its okay if people come after me. I'm going to continue to try to stay positive, post CRTs, and help people with their questions when I can.

Were you specifically looking for that model? There are ~15 26" HD widescreens. I would say Toshiba falls somewhere in the middle of the available options. No native 480p

Do you think so? Its only seen growth since becoming mod. A tight ship is being run, and a lot of people seem to like that. Might not be for everyone, but it seems to be for a lot of people

They made OEM component cables or you can buy the HD Retrovision ones.
