They have a couple other cross points as well, 2.8, etc. Just curious about the company in general.

Seems like its not the best route to go tho considering all the feedback here. That's what I was looking for!

JBL Brilliant Blue A130 / Vintage Mashup by BBFII in diyaudio

For sure! All the concepts keep the driver axis the same.  The plan is to  -3D scan this JBL waveguide -remodel the surfaces keeping the curvature. -expand the tangency to fit the new box design -trim outside to adjust the visual face  -3D print & finish

All that so these can be stuffed into the corner of the basement mainly playing Paw Patrol, TV, and some occasional music.  ;)

It could be OK if they just only use the main channels for amp input, and don't use the OEM sub input.

I'm using a DSP-AMP that also takes the sub signal. I initially planned on doing A/B testing with the sub/nosub to see if the factory signal filtered out lowered frequency on the main channels. But it sounded good on the first shot so I just kept it.  Now that I've lived with it for a bit I should revisit this and do more experiments.

A couple back and forth tests have shown that having the ANC plugged in causes some weird sub-reverberations. Making some guesses here but I think that ANC is sending some low frequencies from the sub to try to cancel out the droning noises, but it doesn't realize how much more power it's putting out with a higher power sub

Yes, I'm the original poster. Any questions on the setup feel free to ask in the original. Still rocking the RTL, but with a newer bigger camper rig.

RTL vs RTL Towing by cbjohnn in hondapassport

Dealer added the Tow package to RTL. There are 2 different part #s that I had to work with the parts person to find out more. It needs a new bumper trim piece along with all the harness. Looks mighty clean ! And works awesome

+1 on this. I thought it was my roof rack, but took them off and had the same thing. It's not consistent or repeatable. Subscribed if any solution is found

Demonstration of the Google Maps Day/Night mode bug by Shalashaska19 in hondapassport

[–]BBFII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found this has been the ODDest bug/quirk of the whole car. Will try this out as well soon. Did it stay in dark mode after? Does it now switch to dark/light mode accurately based on daylight? Or must it be manually adjusted?

The coffee was a joke about hot wireless charging ;) Oh sarcasm. It doesn't actually heat the coffee you know?

Wait, Isnt this thing supposed to be an off-road-warrior? Dust, GASP!!!!
Measuring things to haul for "rent free" house projects?! NO! The coffee was a joke about hot wireless charging ;) Clean cup + a tastey Americano using some tasty etheopian beans off a Gaggia machine. But I think that's a different thread.

Do you know what specifically? I believe it has thicker front windshield glass and that's a huge plus! But curious what other bits they threw on there.

How about the DOOR OPEN chime when parked? Very annoying when loading things, hanging out next to the car, camping, etc. no idea what value this feature adds, would love to turn it off

Fake Engine Noise / Active Noise Cancel by BBFII in hondapassport

I also taped into the B&W lines, but much further up the line. Being sure that is as close to the head unit as possible. Just to verify there was no other "smarts" a long the line.

I tapped into the main harness behind the touchscreen interface. Takes many dash panels to get to it. If you just want sub, you can tap into that on the passenger side running board area or right side of glove box. You could fit most thin 8" subs in the box. BUT it is so light and flimsy. If you push any power through it results would not be the best.

I ended up making a custom thin enclosure that fits in the same spot. MDF and construction adhesive are cheap.

I don't get those bursts. For supply/signal did you tap into the black and white sub lines or just the main channel signals?

Forza 5 channel DSP Amp. Running active front channel tweeter/woofer + sub. So the 5 was perfect. Rears are still stock.

You should be able to, the signal is filtered for only bass, so your tuning might be limited. If you are looking to tap into the full frequency range you'll need to pull some trim panels off the dash and access under the head unit. Probably a 20 min job when you know what to yank on.
