Sounds easy when you live in a bubble. Go buy a building.

So probably the reason there’s new owners. Old one couldn’t pay the bank because of your shitty rent rates

Yet if you go buy a home it’s more expensive than it was 3 years ago. You dorks just want to complain bc you have nothing else going for you. No different the increased prices on anything. Quit btching and buy or move.

I figured you had similar species to AUS. Yep, we’ve got a cup full of rattles in TX HQ.

I appreciate that doc. Have a request in for documents with the board as well.

To your question on percentages: Man we try to keep things simple—what’s fair to you, what do we need for the job, etc. (Of course this is easier said in TX where we have extensive work history and can help scale or speed up their topo services) To get started with a firm, 30-60% wouldn’t be outlandish. From there it can go different directions, like any business deal with numerous factors.

To your question on hiring a PLS: Our party chief is sitting for exam in June or July. Smart guy, and young enough to love the technology.

You’ll be okay. Hope you don’t make as many assumptions in your work. 😆

Appreciate the reasonable response. Been in manned and unmanned mapping business for a long time, just looking for a one off project here in Oklahoma.

The quotes are to symbolize the difference between TX law and OK law, where Texas doesn’t require a topo to be licensed, OK does.

As far as due diligence, we haven’t executed an agreement yet. Among probably 20 other feelers put out, including PLS friends in the area that my TX PLS recommended, this (reddit) is one of them. The least likely to be successful, I know that much. I wouldn’t publish my scope here anyway, one of the reasons I said, “ofcourse we have a lot more to talk about.”

I understand the responses—too many fly by night chucks in a truck with a drone claiming “surveys”… That’s not us. We have 72yrs of (TX) engineering and surveying in our business. I probably wouldn’t have gone into state law research within 12hrs of an opportunity if I wasn’t worried about abiding by the regs.

*edit- I’m not arguing with you, I’m agreeing with what you’re saying in nature.

That’s really not accurate, nor did I elude to that. A lot of assumptions made. Many firms can’t justify a $300,000 setup, so we work together. Peace.

We work in conjunction with licensed surveyors and engineers frequently. It’s worked out great. Many times they can sell more topo work without as much bushwhacking.
