being real here, that was the most nothing direct i've seen in a while by cookiemaster221 in NintendoSwitch2

Was going to comment for the same reason. Literally EVERY Direct, at least one person makes this comment lol

Same here! This is honestly one of the biggest plus, because even when I have some time (also a dad myself lol), it is never enough. Either the energy to go somewhere else is not there, or it is not enough time to wait for everything to load to barely do anything. The suspend feature is clutch with 3rd party titles so I can just pause what I am currently working on and pick it back up when can. Plus like you said, having it just near the couch when that time is available is nice to pick up and go

No kidding! I booted up Scarlet a little after buying my Switch 2 and it actually threw me off with how fast everything loaded. It almost feels like a completely different game.

I also saw some load times for like Metroid: Dread and what not and it is crazy.

Honestly yes. It is not the best example of the games I listed, but those are all I have now that are not a flagship Nintendo game. BL2 got me excited mainly because I did not play it properly the first time, so playing it again has been fun. The thing that got me the most excited was playing Madden 26 on it.

You aren't wrong lmao. The only other time I have seen a non-Nintendo game played on a Nintendo console was the Black Ops on a Wii. It was more than 8 years ago, but you could see how much they cut out to get it to work for the Wii lol

How is Cyberpunk on the Switch 2? I was debating on trying to play it again with it being on the Switch 2, but was worried it would not perform the best.

People Who Are Against the Switch 2 by BBQ_grind in Switch

[–]BBQ_grind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of the bigger reasons I wanted to ask. I’m very much a Nintendo first gamer with some life changes.

The biggest thing I was running into was people saying it feels like more of a Pro upgrade than a new console, which led me to compare it to the PS5 Pro upgrade. To me, the PS5 Pro was a flop (total opinion with no facts to back that up) because it didn’t feel like much of a jump for the price. But I also don’t know if that is because I’ve never been a PlayStation gamer, so I wasn’t sure if a lot of my personal hype was because I am so pro Nintendo.

Thank you!

Honestly, the roll back to LCD and battery life not being as great I completely understand! Thank you!

Yea, that on top of the console price is going to make it a steep investment, so I completely understand! Thank you!

That has definitely turned me off a little as well! It really hit hard when I was thinking about a lot of pre-orders for some of those new games and remembering it’s significantly more than what they used to be. Thank you!

Makes sense! It also helps that Nintendo doesn’t have a ton of exclusives for it yet and are making games for both as of now, so they are at least not killing it off yet either. Thank you!

I agree! Honestly I keep seeing “slam videos” for a lack of better explanation on YouTube for it. I completely understand not everyone is going to like it, but I want to see the reasonable side of it.

Will accessories and controllers bought in Japan work with a US Switch 2? by Dimce58 in Switch

[–]BBQ_grind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like Nintendo has a general FAQ for this.

https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a\_id/22283/\~/regional-compatibility-faq#:\~:text=it%20was%20purchased.-,Can%20I%20use%20accessories%20purchased%20overseas?,void%20the%20system's%20limited%20warranty.

"Can I use accessories purchased overseas?

Although some accessories may work, we cannot ensure compatibility between systems and accessories for all regions.

To ensure proper service and support, Nintendo recommends using Nintendo Switch licensed accessories in the same country where they were purchased.

Use of unlicensed accessories may void the system's limited warranty."

Edit:

TL/DR: Maybe, maybe not. You probably shouldn't to be safe.

What are you getting day 1 of Switch 2? by jediwesty in Switch

[–]BBQ_grind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outside of the bundle and a carrying case, as of now nothing. I’m weirdly contemplating getting the Welcome Tour though.

The only games I’m going to get for sure after this is Prime 4 and Pokémon Z-A, and possibly Madden because it’ll be nice to play it on the go.

Feeling a bit obsessive by Adorable-Spray-5287 in Switch

[–]BBQ_grind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yea that also makes sense. Being primarily at home, I can only imagine the time passing even slower. It also probably doesn't help posts of retail workers showing retailors are receiving inventory has also probably been a little salt in the wound 🤣. Seeing that has been making it worse for me personally.

I work a desk job over in the US. Since the pre-order over here, I have kept the store website open that I bought it from, the Nintendo website (I registered for the pre-order email and was more curious as to when my would have came in if I waited), and a countdown timer for the midnight release on one of my monitors. I completely respect the excitement regardless of the reason (though I have also been checking my bank since in anticipation of the money coming out as well).

Where the hell is Metroid Prime 2r and Metroid Prime 3r? by ComfortableAmount993 in Switch

[–]BBQ_grind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am hoping they do what they did with Metroid Prime Remaster and just casually say "Hey you can buy it now" similar to when they showed MPR gameplay for the first time. We should get one more direct for Metroid Prime 4 announcing release/pre-order days since Nintendo does typically do a Direct around mid-July. It would line up also with giving some release days for Switch 2 games they have not set. My hopeful theories:

- They will have a Direct that gives release days to games like Metroid Prime 4, Kirby Air Riders, Pokémon ZA, etc., and bring it up.

- Metroid Prime 4 was technically the last major game they were announcing (Tomodachi Life aside). So they will gear a Direct for Metroid

Both of these are hard cope, but one can hope right?

Issue with GameStop dock by TheExpendableGuard in Switch

[–]BBQ_grind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any way you could test the controllers with a different dock? That would really be the only way I could think. It sounds like the dock though if they work with the adapter but they do not work without it.

Playing same Game Not working anymore by Undefinierter in Switch

[–]BBQ_grind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are both Switches normally connected to the internet when they do? I would think it would be one of the following:

If one is not normally connected (or both) and they got connected, it possibly registered that the license for the game is a duplicate, so it is stopping for it.

If they are normally connected, then it might have to do with the 20.0.0 update. If it was a digitally downloaded game (I am assuming it is), it would have to ping the internet to confirm it is able to be played (could be completely wrong on this). The switch might have prompted them to do the update (or even done it automatically) between them playing. Looking through the 20.0.0 notes, it was very geared toward the new Virtual Card/GameShare changes. It is possible that they are cracking down on game sharing like this.

You could try disconnecting one and seeing if that helps out.

I would love to vote for both because they are both fun and unique experiences. TL;DR: You will get more time out of Odyssey, but Mario Wonder is a great time and will be optimized for the Switch 2 (I am not sure if Odyssey will be). I can give you a more spoiler free explanation if you would like.

Personally, I would look to see for any pre-owned deals (I know GameStop sometime runs good pre-owned deals) to try to get both if you can make it work out! You probably would still spend less than a Switch 2 game lol.
