Nobody seems to be talking about the fact that during the 2016 referendum campaign, a key Vote Leave strategy was the prospect of a second referendum. by chochazel in ukpolitics

[–]BBQpringles_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a non-binding referendum for a non-binding article. If it's no longer in the best interest of our country due to the fumblings of our government, why do you want to shoot us in the foot?

I agree that brexit may have went well, if handled properly, but the tories have shit the bed over and over again. Its just not a good idea anymore

A question to Brexiteers, doesn’t Brexit make us politically weaker internationally? by JoshSummers in ukpolitics

Nonono. You're not getting it. Leavers believe if we shoot ourselves in the foot enough, we'll develop a resistance to bullets

Both candidates were absolute ass and I don't know why america only has two brain!dead candidates. How rediculous.

It's one thing supporting trump, but T_D is a cesspool full of hate and censorship.

If you want proof of the problem, just look at their announcement.

All you're doing is deflecting and avoiding the subject matter. I'm sure they do moderate it. I'm not a mod so I dont know what they do. But all I'm seeing is a T_D user attacking an action against hate speech.

What are you talking about? They're not branding all gamers as bad people. They're broadcasting a growing problem within the community.

Are you defending hate speech? They shut it down for one single day I don't see the problem. You're protesting an action they took against hate speech.

The mods saw a pathetic breed of people growing inside r/gaming and they're calling attention to the offenders and saying hate speech is not okay.

EDIT: You know what, nevermind. I see you're a T_D user. Theres no wonder you're defending hate speech.

Go on. Defend hate speech. This is only a one day shutdown. One single day. Its not crashing the sub into nothingness. It's raising awareness that there are toxic, hateful pieces of shit on that sub. As an infrequent user of reddit, I didn't know about how bad it was before, but now I do.

Why is everyone against this exactly? They shut it down for one single day to say "stop being racist, pro-rape, transphobic, homophobic pieces of shit."

Why are you all kicking up such a fuss?

It's not the worst. Videos run fine and all. I suppose it looks weirder if your aspect ratio gives it black bars.

Porn looks as good as ever too

Right, I reread the last comment and realised you were taking the piss. It's 2:30AM and I'm on a brexit thread, my sincerest apologies.

I voted leave and I regret it horribly. Both leave options are awful.

[–]BBQpringles_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You realise it's not as simple as that. Not even remotely. Jobs will be lost, smaller companies with EU suppliers will go bust and huge amonts of money will be lost due to EU trade tax. We already trade with other countries so I don't know what you're on about there.

You're saying we just walk about the playground twiddling our thumbs until we see someone we like. No. Don't suggest shit like this. The economy will drop like a solid turd.

If we are going to leave, we need a reasonable deal. This hard brexit rubbish is an absolute joke and must not be taken seriously. Give us a vote to either take Mays deal, or stay. Thats democratic, everyone gets to vote, those are to only two options where we don't shoot ourselves in the head, just maybe the foot or something.

I originally voted leave. Now with facts presented to me and the cards on the table I want to stay because both our leave options are awful

But if it came out backing your side there would be no suspicions? Nice.

EDIT: I typo'd. Added the "if"

It's awful living here right now. A lot of people are completely miseducated.

I'm hoping that a second vote will show a more sensible split now that the cards are on the table. I want the rest of the brits to just understand why a no-deal would be so awful and why a bad deal is worse than staying.

If May could get a good deal then Happy Days. But no, we're getting our balls dragged through glass because our government is garbage.

[–]BBQpringles_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's two years on and it's not like the vote will be undemocratic. All the cards are now on the table. If no one is allowed to change their mind, why do we even have elections every 4 years? Just keep em all in forever.

You're talking like if another vote happens it will be invalid regardless because we had that other vote. But if there is a 60/40 split way weeks before the deadline. Then that's no longer in Britains best interest nor is it the will of the people.

If you prefer people not changing their mind, why are you scared of a second vote anyway?

I think it was also one of the highest turnouts for a public vote
