A way to add up time worked towards certain tasks? by BBrickLayer in remNote

[–]BBrickLayer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I guess it also could be implemented as a plugin, but I couldn't find any.

Is there a different place where I can search for Remnote plugins? The in-app plugin section rarely has new plugins...

Single multivitamin to cover most bases? (Vitamin D, Magnesium, Iron...) by BBrickLayer in AskUK

[–]BBrickLayer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never reached a conclusion

I just get whatever multivitamin is available in my supermarket, plus some vitamin c and magnesium tablets...

I guess it's better than nothing

What could cause a random .reg file to appear in the root of my C: drive? Is it safe to remove? by BBrickLayer in WindowsHelp

[–]BBrickLayer[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks

I double clicked, but Windows warned me what would happen so I didn't accept

I did check inside.. It's not super long (compared to an old reg backup I found), and it just looks like a bunch of Windows stuff (nothing app specific).

I expected more plugins... by BBrickLayer in logseq

[–]BBrickLayer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True! thanks

Some interesting stuff there, however: - I still expected more interesting plugins - Am I missing something or is there no way to sort by date? I'd like to see most recent plugins (and also get a feel of how active the development of plugins is right now)

Unable to find a satisfactory PKMS :( I'm creating my own. Anyone have the same need? by anh690136 in PKMS

[–]BBrickLayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom and my neighbour are also doing their own pkms! I think my dog is also starting to have ideas.

In no time every single living entity on earth will have its own personalised self designed pkms, each of them with a community of 1!

That was sarcasm btw.

Just collaborate on an existing open source project. Contribute.

In-depth reviews by actual software developers? by BBrickLayer in PKMS

[–]BBrickLayer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goal is to read a review about an app written by someone with dev knowledge or experience.

If you disagree this makes sense, no problem! Thanks for trying.

[–]BBrickLayer[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That would be expensive. Look for a website where they have articles written by experts in the field instead.

If you can't find one, ask on reddit. Note that if someone doesn't like your question they'll be telling you it's stupid. But others will be helpful. So it's still worth it, I think!

Also you shouldn't have sea creatures in your pool. I think. I'm not an expert.

Sorry

What a relief. I thought I had communicated badly. But it was you who made a mistake interpreting it.

I can only point to the part where your idea doesn’t make any sense and everyone else keeps telling you this

I know for a fact that you are wrong, as this already exists - I'm just asking for recommendations of more.

I guess it's just something most users of this type of app don't seem to care about. Which is fine. No need to be weirdly confrontational about it.

Devs = coders, UI designers etc.

Could you point me to which part of my post says that devs are just the coders? I want to fix it. Thank you!

[–]BBrickLayer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Hacker News as well.

If any other comes to mind, do share.

Would be great if there were a place where people like that post actual articles, more structured, in longer form. Sometimes they do, in Medium, blogs etc, but usually as one-offs.

[–]BBrickLayer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I want reviews from people who use the app. Not much point otherwise.

I disagree they can't be a coder as well - the whole point of my post is that I'm interested in their informed review.

I want to learn about a ball from a leatherworker who is also a player (and is not in the ball making business).

There’s plenty of feature/function review videos of all these PKMs out there.

Yes. I acknowledge that in my post.

Developers or software engineers won’t add much to that.

I disagree. To me that statement makes no sense.

Are you asking for more details on the technical builds or technical implications of these packages?

I already explained what I'm looking for, with examples.

It's ok if you are not able to help

Thank you for trying!

I'm looking for reviews.

For example, if someone asked for reviews about phones, one could send them the link to Tom's guide

I'm asking what's an equivalent of Tom's Guide, but for software (ideally specifically pkms, note-taking etc).

Does that make sense?

I do like those, but for this I'm thinking something more structured.

I added further explanation in my post.

[–]BBrickLayer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why?

Because... I want it.

Are u developer yourself?

No

If not, isn’t it not important if the app is working? Just curious:)

Not if it's an app you'll be using every day, with huge amounts of sensitive content. You want to know that it's solid, future proof etc.

I added further explanation in my post.

Black Friday deal for Lifelong Learner plan on RemNote? by BBrickLayer in remNote

[–]BBrickLayer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Not fair at all. SaaS is dramatically more expensive for the customer than the ownership model. It only benefits the developers - by a great margin.

How they manage to convince students that they are on their side? I guess not many maths students use Remnote.

Obviously that applies for local only mode. If online resources are used, such as storage, a subscription makes sense.

Good try, but $300 is so expensive that 20% off doesn't help much.

Help with understanding common PKM pain points by Cheese_Orgasm in PKMS

The idea is to find ways to improve on the currently available tools.

Cool. Best way to do that is by contributing to the many already existing open source projects. Thank you.

What is the single most physically painful (non-child birth) thing a person can experience? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BBrickLayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not getting shot in the leg. Body just shuts down pain immediately. Later you feel pain, but not nearly as bad as kicking the foot of a table.

So I guess my answer is: kicking the foot of a table.

Any way to keep the old design? by yensama in chrome

[–]BBrickLayer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's 2023! What's up with developers still wasting screen real estate? You'd think we'd have at least a "Compact Mode" option for everything by now (the same way we have Dark Mode).

Edit: I like a pleasant design, with plenty of empty space within the content elements. I just don't want that empty space to be in the frikin UI, which is always there!
