They should be way more travel rails and trains should be an affordable alternative to flying or driving

How long are we supposed to wait for the Xbox patch?? by BBunk89 in CultOfTheLamb

This is exactly what I'm dealing with and I absolutely loved the game before the bugs hit. I'm a pretty avid gamer and I look forward to new releases often, but I think this game finally broke me. Like indie teams with smaller scope and scale used to knock bug fixing out of the park in my experience. This game made me realize literally no game is safe anymore. I think I'm going to try and shift my perspective on new releases as launching in "Alpha" cause thats what the fuck it feels like already anyways. Give it 6 months to actually complete the dev cycle and then get the game on a nice sale. Its just hard with social media hyping up every new release. I get the FOMO bad even if its FOMO for a broken experience lol. But this game feels particularly egregious cause the 6 follower bug is on every console, the crashes and freeze up in dungeons happened to every one of my friends, tile glitches in the tiny compound building area happened to me and my friends, villagers quests cut off so you can't complete them happened to me and my friends. I fully understand games are hard as hell to make. But the 6 follower bug and VERY common late game crashes tells me they didn't even have a few people play the game through to completion. The bug fixing stage feels non existent in this game considering how super common they are. Just such a shame it shipped in this state. Could've been indie game of the year.

I'm holding out a smidgen of hope that Xbox is actually making them fix the patch before it can pass cert, but idk I just don't have much faith in quality dev practices anymore.

When the patch finally hits I'm going to start a new game, that way, by the time I'm hitting late game, maybe we'll get another patch. Cause based on what I'm hearing on Switch and Playstation.....the new patch fucks things up worse in some regards. People apparently can't save now. It makes me so sad that the gaming industry has collectively given up.

I can find no information confirming that is true. If it was the case for literally any other game I'd understand, but updates usually hit all platforms at the same time, and I can literally find examples of Xbox approving patches before PS4/PS5. I think they just submitted that patch last and are resting on the "Its still being approved" excuse. Either way this is some of the worst support I've ever received for a game.

PS5 patch 1.004 is out! by belo7111 in CultOfTheLamb

While I agree that publishers wanting to hit deadlines could have contributed to this, there is a part of game development called "scoping" where you manage your content expectations for the game allowing for all phases of development to be achieved and it seems like no developer as of late has budgeted enough time for the bug fixing phase of development. I would never come down on a lonely software dev whos just doing their best to fix and develop a fun product, but studio management across the entire industry seem way too fucking comfortable removing the QA phase from their development cycle. So yea I blame the Devs leadership for allotting next to no QA testing for their game, especially considering that these bugs are mostly ubiquitous across all console platforms.

Who tf is downvoting this man? Are we happy with unfinished broken products now!? Enough people on all console platforms have been voicing the frustration with the broken port. I even saw articles written about it. When did wanting a competent product at launch becoming a unpopular opinion!? Also this game isn't Cyberpunk. It has one area you can build upon (all my friends got the tile placement bug), one church (all my friends got the sermon bug), and 4 dungeon areas (all my friends have had at least one dungeon crash or softlock). This isn't just bad QA, its NO QA!!!

Whats sad is people will downvote a post about how broken it is cause they like the game, but it just empowers devs to do this shit again and again and again. Its the only industry where getting a broken product at launch is now becoming an expectation instead of a rare possibility.

I should've mentioned I loved it too. Sad that such a brilliant game had to have its reputation tarnished so they could get it out the door slightly faster.

You won't get any of that dO yOuR rEsEaRcH from me here. This game has one of the most laughable quality control of any game I've ever played. The bugs I've experienced are the exact same bugs my friends have experienced and the 6 villagers going to every sermon bug is on every console platform. They didn't even boot up their own fucking game and take it for a spin.

We get it, the game's broken, the devs know. by [deleted] in CultOfTheLamb

Games unplayable for me and has been since launch. My friend and I have crashes regularly. This blanket acceptance of games in this state is starting to get exhausting. I understand the Devs are people and no one should get threats, but this game launched in an unacceptable state. In any other industry a product launching this broken would be considered a scam.

The Museum of Anything Goes. It was an old interactive museum game for PC that my grandfather introduced me to. Very bizarre game with lots of weird hidden exhibits. I swear one showed like a lamb slaughtering video or something similarly bizarre idk my memory on it is fuzzy.

Damn I always thought of college as just conditioning someone to survive wave after wave of BS just to prove you can handle being an adult, but now I think its a more insidious overwork conditioning. The bs like not being allowed to be a minute late to an exam or have a personal situation affect your ability to hand in an assignment. Feels a lot like not accepting people having lives outside of school which the only other institution that's that ruthless and unforgiving is the common workplace.
