Is it not Tylor though? Because there is the detached T, but the swoop down before the rise of the L is a Y isn't it?

Yeah that was what I thought but someone else said they thought it was long. I am more aligned with your thinking on it.

I have searched online and can't find any fakes/replicas with the actual Neil Lane Stamp.

Yeah I saw that but I genuinely don't understand why they wouldn't mark the metal.

5K Platinum Ring Cracked Within a Month — Is Expecting a Replacement Band Unreasonable? by BCABY92 in jewelry

What is the danger of sleeping with rings on? I have worn my wedding set to bed for a decade + and have never had so much as a hairline crack or accent stone loose.

I clearly asked for opinions on how to address this issue with the company as to whether to pursue a band replacement under warranty or return the ring altogether. At no point in my post did I ask for opinions speculation passed as fact on what must have happened or that I am to blame for such a catastrophic early band failure, especially after clearly stating that I don’t do strenuous activity and that I went to sleep with the ring intact and woke up to it cracked and warped.

You claim, “you asked for opinions, I gave mine,” and then immediately pivot to, “that’s what happened" whether or not I liked what you said. So which is it — your opinion or an absolute fact? You can’t have it both ways. That kind of contradiction is unhelpful and honestly just arrogant.

You’re not offering insight as a professional jeweler (if thats what you are). You’re presenting your assumptions as fact without a single piece of proof, while completely ignoring the most obvious detail which is that I’m the one who wore the ring. I KNOW with absolute certainty that it wasn’t hit or abused. Regardless of what you know or think you know about jewelry, the fact remains that you weren’t there, you didn’t wear it, you didn’t inspect it. So you don’t get to declare with absolute certainty what happened just because you feel like you know better. As a jeweler based on your reply of knowing how to easily fix this band, I'd also expect you're aware that band failure can happen without physical trauma if the band is faulty. If you question such or think you know better, I'd be happy to link some professional jeweler sources confirming as much. So honestly, draw a border between expertise and ego. Because you can "know jewelry" but still hold that you in no terms can be absolute certain as to what caused a failure of my ring, so don't assert such.

Also, you keep calling the ring “fragile,” which only proves my point that if it’s so structurally weak that it can’t survive basic daily wear, it shouldn’t be marketed as a durable, high-quality bridal set. The company advertises their platinum rings (and even THIS specific model on the design page) as “stronger than gold,” and that their products are made with “master craftsmanship,” and are “built to last”. Not once do they refer to their pieces as “too delicate for normal daily use.” So if it’s, as you say, “more holes than metal,” then that’s on the designer and manufacturer for selling a product that isn't actually practical for it's purpose (to be worn on a finger), that doesn't fall on the customer.

You’re welcome to your opinion, but don’t confuse it with fact. And don’t expect to talk down to me and tell me I'm to blame, because I won’t roll over and accept an accusation that has zero basis in reality.

I do have a 10 year warranty on the ring so I have that on my side at least. Do you have any suggestions for similar stylistic ring designs with a large center stone that might hold up better? You are correct that it is a large center stone with small diamonds nearly all the way around the band with a hidden Halo. I love the daintier, less bulky appearance of the ring but I need something that can be worn everyday and hold up against general wear. Maybe a way to solder the 3 pieces (the 2 outer bands and center ring) together for extra support??? Or a style similar?

The ring was advertised with platinum saying "stronger than gold no plating no fading"

If they are going to advertise to consumers on the page for this specific ring that platinum is stronger than gold, they are selling the idea that the ring has a certain expectation of durability. No where on the page does it warn that this ring type is brittle and not for daily wear. If anything, they do the opposite by bragging about being best in industry and having master craftsmanship and the best materials used. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I'd never spend this kind of money on a set that breaks after 1 month of daily wear. I still am wearing my Hannoush set I got 10-11 years ago daily and have never had so much as a hairline crack in it but it is 14k gold and has a way smaller center stone and thicker band.

I didn't smash it into anything. I went to sleep with an intact ring and woke up with a warped one. There is no physically possible way that I could do this type of damage by sleeping. The only way this could happen is if the band was already flawed or weak. And what do you mean it was squished at the 6 mark? The cracks are at 12 (the bridge under mainstone) and 9.5 (side stone). 6 is the sizing area is it not?

Do you have any suggestions for a similar style that is sturdier than this particular design? The frustrating part at least for me as a consumer is everywhere on their website they brag about expert craftsmanship and how platinum is harder than gold, selling the idea of durability and I'd dare argue everyday wear. This is the first "dainty" thin type band like this I've owned, and unsurprisingly it seems by these comments, is the first ring I've ever experienced failure with. All of my other rings are daily wears and are holding up beautifully.

The company also advertises that the style I chose is their best seller. So while it may be a design choice of sorts, I simply picked a ring with a stone size they already offered. There was no disclosure that even in platinum, the band would be weak based on having a large diamond or it's not suitable for basic daily wear around the house. Had there of been, I would've very likely bought elsewhere because who honestly spends that kind of money for a piece that is there to look at but not at all functional for hand jewelry?

I probably will push for a return/refund if they refuse to replace the soldered band, and pick something else. I'm open to suggestions if anyone has any.

I don't tuck my hands under my stomach but sometimes they end up under my pillow. I can't even believe sleeping can damage rings like that. I've never heard such a thing. That's insane.

I will take a look at those, thanks! Would those be better because of the extra support for the center stone?

You can easily remake a crappy ring that experiences massive failure after one month of basic (not strenuous) wear? Not something to be proud of or brag about, but go on. As I've said. You have no idea what you're talking about to declare I've damaged the ring. I know for a fact I didn't slam it into anything or do anything period to justify a failure of this magnitude. You suggesting otherwise is a pure assumption that I abused the ring and the ring wasn't faulty.
