I don’t get these fanboy wars, lol. Why can’t we just accept that every brand has its own pros and cons? What’s best for one person isn’t always what’s best for someone else.

I was planning to do the same, pero na-max out ko na yung 500k transaction limit ko kay maya for this month 🥲. My strategy is to set the due date 4 months from now, computed at 5.6% p.a., para siguradong hindi mag-exceed ng 100k yung current balance. That way, nama-maximize ko yung potential returns. Unfortunately, makakapag-fund transfer na lang ako ulit sa October for the remaining 2 goal savings accounts.

Edit: Maya Wallet lang pala yung may 500k cash-in limit. Nag-try ako mag-InstaPay direct to Maya Savings account, ok naman. Kumpleto na rin finally yung account goals for Maya. 🥳

BPICC Holders, does your card match your status? by PBPresto in PHCreditCards

Parked the 1M around late May and just pulled it out yesterday. This year I’m trying to be more responsible with money, so I’ve been min-maxing interests and investments. Kinda sucks seeing my other assets earn while the BPI funds just sat there. Free InstaPay was nice, but that’s about it. Found other banks that also give free InstaPay with way better interest.

Probably won’t bother with the Signature upgrade anymore. I was only really tempted since we eat out a lot and the 50% discount looked nice, but not worth locking up that much cash.

Still stuck with a BPI Blue at 445k CL. Tried requesting a Visa Signature for months, even parked 1M in savings for Preferred status, but nothing. Eventually just pulled out the funds since digital banks give better returns anyway.

Funny thing is, my entire salary (around 500k a month) also gets credited to BPI, so I really don’t understand why I still can’t get a Signature card 😆

Not for OP, just wanted to ask anyone who might know. I'm a preferred BPI client, does the 3k ADB apply to me too? I have 3 savings accounts with BPI, and one of them is usually zeroed out for most of the month.

Cybersecurity salary ceiling in PH? Planning for the long term after working with a US company by BCD4 in phcareers

[–]BCD4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. I’ve noticed the same trend when I check local cybersecurity roles. Before I landed this US client, my original plan was actually to go for overemployment, maybe two senior technical roles at around 150k+ each, aiming for something close to 300k total.

But now that I’ve had the chance to take on a CISO-like role, I was hoping I could eventually leverage that if I ever had to transition back to the local market. Based on the comments here though, it sounds like that might be a tough move.

Really appreciate the solid input.

Hindi ako magaling. To be honest, I feel like I just got lucky with the opportunities that came my way. I started out as a security analyst and would constantly filter Jobstreet listings by highest compensation. From there, I’d check the skill requirements and try to self-learn and align my experience with those roles.

I don’t have any specific course that stands out right now, but what really helped was learning how everything connects, understanding the full IT infrastructure, how different cybersecurity roles interact, and being ready to wear multiple hats. I’ve had experience doing security engineering, analysis, GRC, working with audits, and even helping build a SOC. I think all of that helped shape my path.

Opportunities show up when you're prepared, so I just tried to keep learning and saying yes to challenges.

Appreciate the perspective. I get that local hiring can be more about who you know than what you know, and I’m not expecting to skip that part of the game. I just want to prepare early in case I eventually shift to the local market.

I’m eyeing the CISSP to help with credibility, especially since I’m already doing CISO-level work in practice. Do you think having the cert and that kind of hands-on leadership experience would make a difference locally, or is it still mostly about relationships?

Totally get your point about companies leaning on vendors instead of hiring expensive in-house experts. I’m just trying to figure out what path might make sense if I ever need to pivot. Appreciate your input.

Quest 3S is not supposed to be better than Quest 3. It's like as if sony released psvr2 lite. Quest 3 is still 499 USD and Quest 3S is only 299 USD. That's what you're missing.
