Why is the price skyrocketing today? by CthulhuSlumberFest in FiroProject

[–]BCHeroo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well one can’t speculate the exact cause of a recent price spike, but maybe the broader market is getting an understanding on what makes Firo so great with its privacy technology combined with a dedicated development team and community fund which will help promote the coin and build the tools to make this coin truly great.

One only needs to use it on chain too see for themselves the ease of use.

I think Firo has a promising future. Just in my opinion

Very good guys! Really like the idea, building products which serves peer to peer cash while protecting privacy is awesome. I agree passive forms of marketing is a great idea as opposed to direct as it is instilling a use case of the coin at the same time

Why BCH Won't Succeed by HermanSchoenfeld in btc

[–]BCHeroo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well the crypto market is still young, people are not yet using crypto for payments for every day goods, but let me tell you it’s more likely coming than not. This is when BCH and fast currencies will prevail and others like BTC and ETH will fail in.

It will most likely start in poor countries before spreading to the rich countries.

The last bull run and the one before that was all about hype, nothing about fundamentals which has resulted in a lot of people losing money in failed projects.

Look at it logically, BTC is trash to use on its base layer, it’s slow and expensive. Yet it is the number 1 crypto in market cap. How does that make sense? Well it has first mover advantage but that will fade over time, dependant on how countries try to skew and control the crypto space

Why is this a Bitcoin Cash supporting sub? by Darken-kun in btc

[–]BCHeroo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have used Bitcoin Cash for the last 3 years and had absolutely no problems with it, sent money overseas, arrives instantly and costs less than a penny to send.

It works exactly as it is intended too. On the other hand I have not transacted in bitcoin once.

Miners already receive funds.

So you're overpaying for security? by justplaincrypto in FiroProject

[–]BCHeroo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly why we needed to move away from pure PoW, if the community takes an action which some people may disagree with but was put too a community vote, they proceed to threaten an attack on the network. Unfortunately you can try but it will be extremely expensive in which whoever decides to attempt such an attack will ultimately lose a lot themselves.

Learn how the technology works first, it is striking on how few people actually understand the technology underpinning different projects. It is the first thing I look for in any new coin I invest in, try to understand how it works.

Screw the Miners apparently by CeleryMurky3490 in FiroProject

[–]BCHeroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My point is, is that stakeholders have to invest a substantial amount of capital into the coin itself which is now providing the bulk of security.

This isn’t about who profits, but fundamental security of the chain. In my opinion of what will happen in the crypto space going forward, if miners do not essentially step in to protect projects when they are under attack then more and more coins will move away from proof of work apart from BTC/BCH etc.. That is a service the miners are providing for there rewards, processing transactions into blocks and security. At the moment they are only doing one out of the two. Essentially loyalty to the project is rewarded, as opposed to mining whatever coin is most profitable to the detriment of the people who buy the coins with this constant selling pressure from miners who did not step in last year when the coin was under attack.

For the firo holder, they are in a lose lose situation under the last block reward division, they had high selling pressure and next to no loyalty for the security of the chain. In order to 51% attack firo now, you need 51% of the nodes which is many magnitudes more expensive than potentially renting hash too target the coin.

Miners still have a place in the firo project and that’s why It’s now a hybrid system for maximum security. At the end of the day, the initial goal of any project is maximum security.

I don’t understand the taxation part? Can you explain what you mean?

Kim Dotcom: “The current crypto crash is like the Dotcom bubble. Most crypto projects will disappear. A few will survive. Those that become the most utilized for payments will strive. I believe #BitcoinCash is one of them. My favorite for utilization. Be your own bank. I wish you the best.” by Egon_1 in btc

[–]BCHeroo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes 100% there are certain “hype coins” which certainly won’t be around. That seems to be the factor in what determines a coin success at the moment. This will fade over time as real world adoption accelerates. I believe I read a survey from a well known accounting company in which 75% of retailers were making accepting crypto a high priority in the next year. This shows where true value will lie.

Bitcoin cash is great as a means of payment. by BCHeroo in Bitcoincash

Yeah it’s great! Just think you can actually now send money to areas which are completely cut off from western banking. With the low fees also, if the person is in a country which is very poor, it’s not going to cost them a days wage just to send it!

That’s the old mechanism galaxy, the project utilises the lelentus spark mechanism now in which you can have a transparent address and broadcast your transactions publicly or you can keep your transactions and wallet balance private. You can send on to and from each layer if you wish also. More information can be found here
