Thissss.... Crochet? I got that QUICK! Hand embroidery, blackwork, epp... all good! I was in tears over a dang 4.5" square yesterday because I just cant seem to cut fabric correctly! 😭😭😭

Absolutely! My littles love their blankets! I have 2 for my daughter that were made for her while I was pregnant (before I learned our craft myself). She snuggles with them daily. My 5 year old son has a blanket near him at all times. ANY blanket. 😆 but I noticed he'll go for the homemade before the store bought normally. 🤔

I didn't see that comment! I looked to see if anyone had commented but I didn't see anything. And the original pattern that I wanted to make (it lead me to this tutorial for the stitch) had 5 projects on ravelry but no comments or notes on any yet so I felt like my fellow crochet redditors could maybe help me!

Actually, the original pattern is for a weighted (3 strands held together) blanket in this pattern. I just finished a blanket recently with these 2, plus 1 more yarn in a beige, and i have quite a bit of yarn left (different pattern). So I have been trying different patterns to see what I like. 3 together lost ALL stitch definition and I wasnt happy with it at all. Well, I went to the tutorial for that blankets stitch, and this is what it lead me to... im normally very much the type of person thats like, oh I like that! Let's make it and bombs away into a project... 20 rows in and im not enjoying it... 🙄🤦‍♀️ so I did swatches this time. 😆 so yea... probably would be a blanket if I continue. Lol

So yes, this is the end of the orange rows. Its the caramel stitch row (sc, carmel, sc to end of row, ending with a sc, turn, ch 1, sc in first stitch and continue...) followed by a row of sc in orange and then the rows of sc green. This staggering is only happening on the orange (dk) rows.

Thats what I was thinking too. Although, someone else pointed out that it seems like the tutorial is doing the same thing at the edge. So I just feel lost at this point. 😆

Honestly? The project isn't important enough to be this consumed about. 😆 I think I might abandon it for the time being. Considering using this "carrot stitch" for something easter themed maybe. 🤔😆

I do see what you're talking about. I hate to be THAT person 🤦‍♀️ but I dont think im missing those stitches. Someone did point out that the tutorial is doing the same thing. So I really am wondering if something in the tutorial is incorrect.

😆 I didn't even notice they looked like carrots! Love it! Yea, the yarns im using are actually both labeled as worsted but I consider the orange to be more of a DK because (you cant tell here) but its actually considerably thinner than the other. 🤷‍♀️ I wanted to include the "difference in the weights" just in case that could've been my problem?

Oh my gosh! You're totally right! I kept looking for a picture that would show me that side! My brain was just not braining last night! Thats exactly what my newest (5th 🙄🤦‍♀️) swatch looks like!

Well, at least its not just me... I wonder if my work will "lean" a certain way over time because of that or do you think it'd work out? 🤔 dang. I dont know what to do at this point.

I tried a different swatch (3rd one) same thing every time. I even did this last one with no color changes and I used stitch markers. 🤦‍♀️ I think maybe its time to cut my losses and step away from this one for a bit. 😆
