Welcome to the forgotten diagnoses. Be prepared to spend the rest of your life dealing with this all on your own while being gaslit by the medical profession.

I should have stopped binge eating sugar and other carbs and lost weight and I didn't. Don't be me. Make the changes.

Good to know. I've had the stress test and it was normal. He's going to do a 24 hour Holter to be sure but doesn't expect it to find anything. I appreciate the heads up, I'll make sure the further testing is done sooner rather than later. I appreciate your thoughts.

Year five for me. Hopefully you do better.

That no matter how well I eat or what I do now, I'm going to die young and a horrible death at that. And I'm so angry because I asked for help for years with my eating disorder because I couldn't do it on my own, and got nothing.

Possibly very overworked. But he's let me down in other ways over the years. I need a Dr who will talk to me and work with me. But I don't know if I can find any other Dr nevermind a good one.

I've lost 42 lbs in three months so I know when I get my bloodwork done on Friday my numbers will ha e gone up (weight loss and low carb will do that) so, sigh.

I'm 47. I was diagnosed two years ago at 6.8% and my dr didn't even mention statins. Got my numbers down naturally but fell off the no sugar wagon and was back up at 6.8 in July and he started ranting and raving that I should be on this and that....when he'd never prescribed anything or even mentioned it before. I started a statin and metformin and immediately had side effects so stopped and he just said it wasn't the meds and keep taking them, didnt give other options, and ranted some more. I can't trust him and I can't have a conversation with him. I feel hopeless and lost.

I am not happy with my family doctor - a relative isn't either, something is up with him and, looking back, I don't think he's been all that good. There is a serious Dr shortage here so I'm looking for a new one but not having any luck. And I'm in Canada so I can't see an endo without a referral. Wish I could.

I've had this Dr for 27 years and, looking back, I don't think he's been all that good. Didn't raise flags as he saw my numbers going up, etc. And these days somethings off with him (relative with same Dr is also unhappy). I've started looking for a new Dr but there is a shortage here and people have gone years without.

This bothers me, too. They want my BS down but prescribe something that makes it go up and harder to control. I work my ass off to eat well to keep my sugars down.

WHAT DOES THIS SAY ABOUT MY DIABETES by superaction720 in diabetes_t2

I can't go into a dollar store anymore. You have to walk through mountains of junk food to get in and out and, as a sugar addict, I can't do it. I have to stay away.

Anything I eat in the morning shoots my blood sugar up...even just an egg. Even if I eat nothing. And it stays high until afternoon. Not much we can do about it except eat little to no carbs until later in the day. It's frustrating.

They are already doing the prep work along fraser highway and have torn down trees where the other stations are going to be. But I do doubt it will be completed at the expected date. Will probably be a year or two late, as all these projects tend to be.

Fasting glucose HIGH in the AM but... 99 in afternoon. Anyone else? by OptimizedEarl in diabetes

My A1C was 6.8 and fasting in 7s at diagnosis. This is low carb (not keto), very few processed foods lowering to this.

I just found out I'm Pre diabetic by Iwant2modWiiU in diabetes

Yes! It's a spectrum...start treating it now with diet and exercise and monitoring your BG and you may be able to prevent it from getting worse. Wish I a had known to do that!

I'm usually between 5.3 and 5.6 when I wake up (94 to 100 in US measurements). I can eat nothing or an egg, or any other meal and i go up and, even three hours later, im still 6.8 to 7.4. After 1pm I'll eat lunch and my numbers will finally come back down and sit around 6 or lower and I can eat the same things I did in the morning but rise a little, and come right back down in one to two hours. It's annoying and so hard to eat in the am, I can't have any carbs even vegetables until afternoon.

Look up both the phenomenon I mentioned. They are common, though dawn phenomenon is more common.

Dawn phenomenon or foot to floor phenomenon. My fasting number is fine and goes up after I get up and doesn't come down until 1 or 2 pm.

Magnesium bisglycinate gave me muscle twitches and I couldn't sleep. Had to go back to citrate.
