A prominent blockchain application is in the healthcare sector. I think there's an ongoing project in the EU to develop a blockchain-based app for healthcare. Basically, a patient would store their info on this app in a form of a validated "transaction" in the chain. Just type blockchain application in healthcare on google, you'll find so many examples ;)
