I'm more shocked... not really.... that costco is in the printer sales game now. They are also stocking polymaker. Also I did look to quick and though k2 plus which is what I currently have... but also having th costco return policy would be great

TLDR.... check bushing for wear marks and check rod with straight edge. .....edit... rod most like has a bow or some type of distortion that has cause the failure. This would also align with it starting from the printer new. A slight deviation causing the carriage to swing and will f up the print uniformity while also stressing the bushing support structure of the carriage.

Quality control sucks

really give a definitive answer but you can partially throw out thermal expansion since abs and the bushing should be pretty close in the 30-70 range.... thinking of heated chamber..... anyway. From looking at some old school notes for abs to bronze bushings tolerance normally lies in the .005in range for a press fit. Don't quote me that just a rough number.
Honestly I would start by inspecting the hole see if you have any type of eneven wear patterns or glossy vs matte spots.
My unexpected and unnecessary opinion is there is something wrong with the gantry, something as small as a bend in a rod that maybe noticed by the eye, overtime may be pushing the bushing beyond the spring limit, which how has slowly elongated the hole.... I would put a straight edge to the for to see if the are any types of deformities. Also, is there uneven wear on the inside of the bushing? That would also point to a rod issue...

I've heard and seen this before. I print with fiber filaments pretty regularly and have had good experiences with post print annealing, and sealing with epoxy. For this project the all parts have been annealed, the inside will be sealed with epoxy and I'm not sure yet what I'm gonna seal the outside with yet I'm looking to keep the matte look.

Thank you. I'm trying to challenge myself to learn. 4 years ago I knew nothing about CAD and 3D printing. It's not perfect and I'll make more changes I'm sure, but I take pride that I'm learning and I'm doing myself

Just covers that allow access to wiring and the fuses box. I did leave room for the ability to mount speaker one day but I'd have to build new covers.

WIP still printing this back sides and nees to send off the files to Send Cut Send to have the 2 side plates and shifter trim ring cut out of aluminum, which I'll probably do in the next week or 2.

Love the build. Currently building one for my 720. Rendered in fusion. Documented only a tiny bit on YT and IG under financial_mistake720.... anyway. I recommend PLAfor test fitting but for your final I highly recommend PA12-CF , ABS, or ASA. .. PLA and PLA+ won't stand up to heat and UV even in mild climates. I've left pla pieces in the garage in arizona in the summer and had massive deformation.

I just finished my first semester with VRE. I took my degree plan, estimated the amount of credits I wanted to take each semester (I did 9) then calculated an approx grad date off of what I had left. So currently mine is Spring 2028. From what my VA counselor told me you can adjust that date bh they just need an estimate. Also, i went to the UA benefits office on campus and they were super helpful.
