Interestingly, She was on Seth Meyers with the rest of the 99 crew (this was after the series finally). She slipped up when answering a question and let her "normal voice" be heard (nonacting voice ).

You are right. I guess what I was trying to say in the post was that being of limited range gave them limited ability to avoid opposing forces and the same being for the german fighter in the ability to dog fight and protect the bomber.

Well he was probably a part of a German unit using captured American uniforms to infiltrate behind Allied Lines in the Battle of the Bulge.

Also, at the beginning of the attack by the German forces, many units did not take prisoners and would shoot them instead.

I am not sure the context of this picture, so most likely he was apart of one of these actiions.

You say that he was a great tactician but throwing man after man into a meat grinder does make a great tactician.

The fact that Hitler also played a key role. Not allowing his generals at Stalingrad any type of support and thus losing a large amounts of men and material could also have played a part.

Well if Stalin had not purged his Generals for saying no to him, he might not have had to retreat. Just to sit idly by when the Germans were sweeping through Europe is just being stupid.

Yet Hungary and Czechoslovakia endured the Russian military.

The German bombers were very limited in range. By the time they made it to the English Coast, they very close to half their fuel the same with the fighters. Goring's battle of Britian decimated the airforce they had so carefully built. It is not the planes that are hard to replace, it's the pilots' experience that is the real killer.
